Students from the Indonesian Army Staff and Command School (Seskoad) for the 2024 Fiscal Year conducted a strategic study of the defense industry at PT DAHANA. The Director of Finance, Risk Management, and Human Resources at DAHANA, Ahyanizzaman, warmly welcomed the Seskoad Senate and students at the DAHANA Campus in Subang, West Java, on Monday, November 4, 2024.

In his remarks, Ahyanizzaman welcomed the participants and the Seskoad Senate. He also conveyed a common misconception among guests regarding the name “DAHANA Campus,” which is often confused with that of a university. He clarified that the name derives from the Central Management Office, or the head office of PT DAHANA.

“Nonetheless, the philosophy of a learning environment remains inherent to the DAHANA Campus, as it is regarded as the mecca of Indonesian explosives. This is evidenced by numerous visits from external parties, including the Army, the Police, and professionals from the mining and oil and gas sectors, as well as students eager to learn about high-energy materials such as explosives,” stated Mr. Ahyanizzaman.

DAHANA officially relocated from Tasikmalaya to Subang in 2012. The company purchased nearly 600 hectares of land, previously owned by PTPN VIII, in the 1990s. With this expansive area, DAHANA established various new production facilities, including factories for commercial and military explosives.

Mr. Ahyanizzaman emphasized DAHANA’s close relationship with the Indonesian National Army, which has been in place since the company’s inception. DAHANA was initially formed from the Indonesian Air Force’s Menang Project and became a dynamite factory in 1966.

DAHANA has developed dual-use technology, which means its explosives are applicable in both commercial and military sectors. For instance, the Indonesian Army frequently uses the Bomb P Series for Sukhoi aircraft. Other military explosive products are still under research and development.

“We hope that these products will soon be integrated into the Indonesian Army’s arsenal. Historically, we have maintained a close relationship with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, working on a strategic project to establish a propellant factory aimed at supporting the independence of the Indonesian defense industry. We seek the support and prayers of all colleagues to ensure the timely completion of this project,” added Mr. Ahyanizzaman.

During the meeting, Mr. Ahyanizzaman and Brigadier General Herry Steve, the National Defense Trainer for Seskoad, exchanged souvenirs. Following the welcoming ceremony, the students and Senate members had the opportunity to visit the DAHANA Energetic Material Center to observe the production process of explosives firsthand.
