In his opening remarks, Hary Irmawan, President Director of PT DAHANA, emphasized the importance of fostering a safety culture within the work environment. He stated that effective implementation of OHS Management System leads to a safer, healthier, and more productive workplace. He also expressed appreciation for the active participation of employees throughout the National OHS Month activities over the past month.

“Thank you to all employees involved in the commemoration of the 2025 National OHS Month. I hope this activity is not viewed merely as an annual routine, but as a means to raise our awareness of the significance of occupational health and safety. It should motivate us to be more disciplined, productive, and ultimately achieve prosperity for everyone,” said Mr Irmawan.

Ir. Subkhan discussed the theme “Realizing a Safe Workplace: Opportunities and Barriers to OHS Implementation.” He highlighted the various challenges facing OHS implementation, including limited resources and inadequate worker awareness. However, he noted that with the right strategies, companies can overcome these obstacles to create a safer and more productive work environment.

He shared case studies of significant industrial accidents, such as the BP Texas City Refinery Explosion (2005), the BP Deepwater Horizon incident (2010), and the Chevron Oil Explosion in Richmond, California (2013). These examples illustrated the importance of OHS risk management and preventive measures applicable in various industries.

Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adithya Sudiarno presented on “Awareness and Motivation in Building Safety Behavior.” He stressed that cultivating a safety culture at work is a collective responsibility of both management and employees. Motivation and awareness are crucial for developing safe work practices. He also discussed the multidimensional aspects of OHS, including transportation safety, food safety, product safety, and the various human and work factors that influence OHS implementation success.

Ivan Angga Maulana, Head of the OHS Month Executive Committee, emphasized that the implementation of the OHS system goes beyond mere regulatory compliance; it is a vital part of enhancing worker productivity and welfare. He encouraged all employees to internalize OHS values in every aspect of their work.

He further reported that during the National OHS Month celebrations, the team conducted various activities at the Subang Campus, in Jakarta, and across DAHANA sites throughout Indonesia. This year, several DAHANA locations also achieved notable successes in the field of OHS.
