Participants of Workshop for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ School for Staff and Leaders (Sesparlu) visited DAHANA in order to expand networks with Strategic Industrial SOEs. The Ministry dent Director of Foreign Affairs training team was directly welcome by President Director Wildan Widarman at the DAHANA Campus in Subang on 13 November 2023.
In his speech, Mr Widarman conveyed a brief history of DAHANA which started with the “Menang ‘Project” of the Indonesian Air Force, while the name DAHANA was taken from Sanskrit which means ‘fire’. This Indonesian explosives mecca company was headquartered in Tasikmalaya before it moved to Subang, occupying almost 600 hectares of land.
“On this 600 hectare land, we built various facilities such as an office area that has a Green Building certificate with Platinum designation from the GBCI, a meeting hall, reading park & museum, warehouse, and explosives factories which is part of the National Vital Objects,” Mr Widarman explained.
Owing to its extensive facilities, DAHANA is claimed to be the company with the most complete explosives facilities in the ASEAN region. In terms of operations, DAHANA offers Total Explosive Solutions services which include supply, loading & hauling, drilling & blasting, handling, warehousing, and destruction of explosives.
In 2022 DAHANA joined the Indonesian defense industry holding (DEFEND ID) together with PT Len Industri (Persero). The holding company consists of PT DAHANA, PT Pindad, PT Dirgantara Indonesia and PT PAL Indonesia which is originally set to realize the independence of Indonesia’s Defense and Security Equipment (Alpalhankam).
The Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Secretariat, Yudo Sasongko, expressed his gratitude for DAHANA’s warm welcome. He also said that in this visit, his team consisted of 39 participants who were the Republic of Indonesia’s proud diplomats who had served in various countries for more than 15 years.
“Our visit is meant to broaden our knowledge by visiting national strategic SOEs while increasing our network and establishing good relations with SOEs companies. Hopefully this meeting can bring benefits to both parties,” said Mr Sasongko.
After receiving a presentation from the DAHANA team, the training participants were given the opportunity to visit the DAHANA Energetic Material Center (EMC) area. They also visited the Emulsion Cartridge Factory, Non-electric Detonator Factory and enjoyed product quality tests in the bunker area.
