Student cadets of the Faculty of Defense Engineering and Technology (FTTP) at the Indonesian Defense University (Unhan) held a Practical Field Work at PT DAHANA. The group of Unhan students and lecturers received a warm welcome from Yusep Nugraha, the Director of Technology and Development at DAHANA, at the DAHANA Campus in Subang, West Java, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Asvial, the Dean of FTTP Unhan, stated that the lecture’s theme was “Empowerment of the Manufacturing Industry in the Field of Satellite Launcher Propulsion and Satellite Communication in the Era of Industrial Revolution 5.0 to Achieve Excellent Research Supporting Defense Technology Development.” He expressed hope that the students would be attentive and learn from the experts at DAHANA.

“On behalf of the campus, we extend our deepest gratitude to PT DAHANA for being open to our students’ learning activities. We hope the students will concentrate on absorbing new knowledge and experiences from our esteemed Indonesian defense industry,” said Mr Asvial.

In addition to its strong presence in the commercial explosives sector—including mining, quarries, construction, and oil and gas—PT DAHANA, part of the DEFEND ID holding, is also engaged in producing military explosives. With a culture of innovation and collaboration, DAHANA aims to fulfill DEFEND ID’s vision of being a driving force behind the revitalization of the country’s defense industry.

DAHANA has achieved significant milestones, such as producing the P-Series Bomb, which is utilized in Sukhoi aircraft. It is currently collaborating with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to establish an independent domestic propellant industry, serving as the base material for both large and small caliber munitions.

Mr Nugraha expressed pride in being a learning venue for FTTP Unhan students, emphasizing that it aligns with the DAHANA Management Head-quarters mission, which is to facilitate a space where academics, practitioners, and explosives experts can meet to exchange knowledge and experience.

“Thank you to our colleagues at the dean’s office, the lecturers, and the students of Unhan. Hosting this visit is a joy for us. Let us work together to advance and develop independent defense technology, in line with the theme of today’s activities,” concluded Mr Nugraha
