PT DAHANA is involved in the Sundanese Poetry Reading Competition for Elementary School Students throughout Electoral District 1 (Cijambe and Cibogo, Subang, West Java). The competition was organized by Jagad Subang Siliwangi City of Subang Chapter, at the Karang Anyar Hall, Subang, on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Neni Sumarni, DAHANA’s Manager of Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit said that PT DAHANA has a high commitment to the growth and development of the Subang community, especially the young generation who are currently in elementary schools. One of them is by being involved in the Sundanese Poetry Reading Competition.
“DAHANA’s involvement in this event is also a form of the Company’s concern for the preservation of local languages as a cultural heritage owned by the Indonesian nation. Hopefully, with this Sundanese poetry reading competition, we can pass on the local language to the next generation,” said Ms Sumarni
In addition, through involvement in the competition, DAHANA is also supporting Point 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely quality education as the Company’s SER commitment.
As a company established in Subang, DAHANA is very active in helping the Subang community, both in the fields of education, health, religion, environment, and improving the community’s economy. In addition to being involved in competitions, in the field of education, DAHANA also often provides educational facilities to schools in Subang Regency.
Meanwhile, Raka AB, the organizer, expressed his appreciation for PT DAHANA’s concern. He said that there there needs to be more agencies that care about the preservation of the Sundanese language, amidst the many extinctions of local languages experienced by other ethnic groups in Indonesia.
“Based on data from the Ministry of Education and Culture, many local Indonesian languages are experiencing extinction. Therefore, we should care about the preservation of regional languages through various activities that are accepted by the next generation. Thank you to PT DAHANA for being involved in this activity. Hopefully DAHANA will continue to advance and develop,” said Mr Raka AB.
