Indonesian Ambassador to Turkiye, Dr. Lalu M. Iqbal visited the Defense Industry Holding (DEFEND ID) booth at the 2023 International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) exhibition which was held at the Tuyap Fair Convention & Congress Istanbul, Turkiye, from 25 to 28, 2023.
During the ambassador’s visit to the DEFEND ID booth on the first day, Suhendra Yusuf RPN as Director of Technology & Development of PT DAHANA requested that the Indonesian Ambassador and Consulate Generals in Turkey create potential and realize cooperation between Indonesia and Turkey in both the commercial and military commercial sectors.
“Dr. Lalu M. Iqbal as the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey welcomed this request and would immediately form a Business Intelligence aimed at opening up more open opportunities to make sure Indonesian-Turkish Cooperation can be realized soon, “explained Mr Yusuf.
Mr Yusuf added that he really appreciated the ambassador’s efforts. Mr Yusuf said this was a concrete step from the ambassador to support the goal of DEFEND ID’s establishment as mandated by President Joko Widodo at the inauguration of the holding, namely to establish strategic cooperation with the world’s defense industry, and to become an important player in the global supply chain.
In line with Mr. Iqbal’s statement, the Directorate General of Defense Potential of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Mohammad Fadjar, M.PICT. who was present as Indonesia’s HoD for IDEF Turkiye 2023, told Defend ID that the Directorate General of Defense Potential, Ministry of Defense, as the supervisory body of the defense industry fully supports the creation of opportunities for Indonesian-Turkish Cooperation in the future, and if the state’s presence (support) is required, then the Directorate General it will be at the forefront for realization of this bilateral cooperation.
During the IDEF Turkiye 2023 activities, the Defend ID is located at Booth 8, Indonesia Pavilion, Tuyap Convention Center. The Indonesia’s booth was directed by SM Supply Chain Management Wibowo Budi Santoso and SM Marketing and Operations for Commercial Products Aditya Prima Dewayana. DAHANA’s booth displayed Bomb P Series (Bomb P 100 L, Bomb P 250 L, and Bomb P 500 L), Defense Rockets, Dayagel Series, Dayagel Seismic, Dabex, Dawagel, Accessories, and other explosives.
“The DEFEND ID booth received good enthusiasm from visitors as can be seen from the high number of visitors trying to get to know the core business of each DEFEND ID entity, along with on-site meetings for exploring possible business collaboration,” concluded Mr Yusuf.
