PT DAHANA (Persero) provides several services in the oil and gas sector. Some of these include warehousing services for storing explosives and seismic explosive preloading services.
Tuesday (17/12) Dahana Campus got a visit from tens of employees of Pertamina Hulu Energi OSES (PHE OSES). They were training participants for competency improvement related to handling and securing of commercial explosives.
The group of 22 people was directly welcomed by Yusep Nugraha, General Manager of the Oil and Gas Division of PT DAHANA (Persero). According to Frans Junior, Asst. HSE Operations Manager of Pertamina Hulu Energi OSES, his visit with the group was to see first hand the security practices in Dahana as an industry in the field of explosives.
“We are conducting training on how to handle and safeguard commercial explosives. We deliberately invite these participants to come to DAHANA because we think DAHANA is the most appropriate partner in this training,” said Frans Junior.
The training participants received exposure on explosives and their handling from Rudiawan Lukman, Shaped Charges Project Manager and Sudirjo Heru, Senior Production & Support Manager.
During the training session, Rudiawan explained how to handle and secure commercial explosives, especially explosives in the oil and gas sector prior to use in the field, starting from the transportation method, licensing, storage in warehouses until the final step in which explosives are used in the field for oil and gas exploitation purposes.

Preloading of seismic explosives is one of the activities in seismic surveys. Preloading activity is the work of inserting the Dayagel Seismic explosives into the hole during the seismic survey.
Yusep Nugraha explained that preloading service covers the process of checking quality control of the condition of the firing hole, arrangement of seismic explosives, loading of seismic explosives into the firing hole, and tamping or closing of the firing hole.
“In term of warehousing services, DAHANA provides secure warehousing facilities for storage of explosives and other accessories. The location of warehousing is also very strategic and has been equipped with good safety standards in accordance with applicable industrial standards and a large capacity to store explosives, detonators and other explosive accessories, ” said Yusep.
Following the exposure and discussion session, the training participants were invited to tour the facilities in DAHANA’s Ring 1 Area, including a visit to the Non-electric Detonator Factory, Cartridge Emulsion Factory and warehousing facilities. (rmt)
