PT DAHANA’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit has handed over the “Si Badai” stove which is a collaborative work of BRIN and the Subang State Polytechnic, to the local MSME community surrounding the company. The delivery of this environmentally friendly stove took place at Taman Canda, Subang, West Java, on Monday, December 30, 2024.
In his remarks, Eman Suherman, Head of DAHANA SER Unit, emphasized the Company’s commitment to environmental sustainability. He stated that the handover of the “Si Badai” stove represents PT DAHANA’s support for renewable energy initiatives. He hoped the stove will not only benefit the environment but also enhance the businesses of local MSMEs.
“This is DAHANA’s initiative to support the renewable energy program. We hope it will positively impact the recipients and inspire others to switch to environmentally friendly stoves developed by our nation’s innovators,” said Mr Suherman.
The “Si Badai” stove is an innovation from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) featuring an eco-friendly design. This stove utilizes gasification technology, converting biomass such as wood and waste into fuel gas, which increases efficiency and reduces waste.
A unique aspect of this stove is its double-tube design, which creates a turbulent airflow similar to a storm, resulting in more even combustion and greater fuel efficiency. With 5 kg of fuel, the stove operates for 4-5 hours. Additionally, the “Si Badai” is equipped with a heat insulator and an air regulator for optimal safety.
Masri bin Ardin, a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Polsub, expressed hope that the “Si Badai” stove will not only benefit the environment but also help reduce production costs for Subang MSMEs, ultimately improving their financial situation.
“We hope our innovation from Poltek Subang will assist the community and lower production costs for MSME actors,” stated Mr Ardin.
Meanwhile, a recipient of the “Si Badai” stove, Dadang, expressed his gratitude to DAHANA and Poltek Subang. He is optimistic that this assistance will help him and fellow MSME actors improve their productivity.
“On behalf of the community, I would like to thank you for providing the ‘Si Badai’ stove. We hope that using the ‘Si Badai’ will contribute to increased production among MSME actors,” he said.
