Neni Sumarni, DAHANA’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Manager handed over hundreds of books directly to Yeni Nuraeni, Head of the Subang Regional Library Service at the Subang Archives and Library Service, Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

Ms Sumarni said during her visit that the book donation from PT DAHANA was a form of the Company’s commitment to supporting the Subang community, especially in efforts to improve literacy in Subang Regency. She hoped that through the assistance of these books, more and more Subang residents will care about literacy in supporting Indonesia Emas 2045.

“Hopefully these books will not only be displayed in the Regional Library, but will also increase the interest in reading and the quality of reading of the community, especially the younger generation of Subang. DAHANA hopes that together we can collaborate to advance Subang in all fields, one of which is in the field of literacy,” said Ms Sumarni.

In commemoration of World Book Day 2025, DAHANA provided hundreds of books with various categories, such as literature, language, knowledge, history, culture, to anti-corruption and education books. The extensive book categories is expected to reach many levels of society to be interested in reading books.

As is known, Indonesia is one of the countries with a low level of reading interest. The lack of cheap and easy access to books is one of the thorny problems faced by the community. Therefore, Ms Nuraeni appreciates the donation of books provided by PT DAHANA.

According to her, to improve literacy in the Subang community, collaboration between various parties, especially business actors, is needed to enrich the titles in the book inventory in Subang. The more books available, of course, the more people will be interested in coming to the library.

“Hopefully, with the books donated by DAHANA, the people who come to the Library will not only be filled with students who are doing research, but can be a choice of entertainment and vacation for parents to bring their children to the library,” said Ms Nuraen.
