Jakarta, June 10, 2025 – Indo Defense 2024 Expo & Forum has been officially opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran. After inaugurating the opening of the event, the President of the Republic of Indonesia directly visited the DEFEND ID booth. Representing the Defense Industry SOEs Holding, DEFEND ID consists of PT Len Industri (Persero) as the parent holding, PT Pindad, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), PT PAL Indonesia, and PT Dahana. DEFEND ID has a strategic role in realizing the independence of the main national weapon system (Alutsista).
During his visit, President Prabowo Subianto was directly accompanied directly by Prof. Joga Dharma Setiawan, Ph.D as President Director of PT Len Industri (Persero), Sigit Puji Santosa as President Director of PT Pindad, Marsda Gita Amperiawan as President Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), Dr. Kaharuddin Djenod, M.Eng as President Director of PT PAL Indonesia, and Hary Irmawan as President Director of PT Dahana. The President’s Directors provided direct explanations to the President regarding superior products, the latest technological achievements, and the direction of the defense industry’s continued development.
In his remarks at the opening of the Indo Defense 2024 Expo & Forum event, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of strengthening national defense through support from domestic industry and defense diplomacy “In the midst of global geopolitical dynamics, our commitment is to ensure national sovereignty through independent, resilient, and sustainable defense technology innovation.” said Prof Setiawan.
The strategic theme: “Defense Partnerships for Global Peace & Stability” forms an affirmation of Indonesia’s vision as a country that actively maintains world peace while strengthening national defense capabilities independently and sovereignly.
Indo Defense 2024 Expo & Forum of DEFEND ID presents an integrated booth that displays a series of superior products and technologies resulting from innovations in the domestic defense industry ramging from land combat vehicles, weapons systems, warships, ammunition, military aircraft, to electronic systems and defense technology. This booth is a showcase for the progress of national defense independence. DEFEND ID’s participation is not only intended to strengthen the image of the Indonesian defense industry in the eyes of the world, but also to open up opportunities for strategic cooperation with global partners in the development of defense technology.
In line with what was conveyed by the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin in term of displaying of the best products, PT Len Industri (Persero) is present and acts as a cross-platform system integrator for Alutsista (Main Equipment of the National Weapons System), with an integrated and adaptive network centric warfare approach to the dynamics of modern threats. In carrying out its role, PT Len Industri (Persero) presents various superior products such as Len NavysysIntercom M2, NCS Link ID, CMS/FCS, SII, and IMINT, which support the effectiveness and interoperability of the defense system.
The superior weapons and ammunition system from PT Pindad includes the latest innovations such as the SS3-M1 assault rifle, SPS-1 anti-drone weapon, SS Amphibious and Heavy Machine Gun (SMB) SM5-A1. In the weapons category, presenting various variants of SS2, Sniper Rifle (SPR), Advanced Marksman Rifle (SPM/DMR), Machine Gun (SM), Grenade Launcher Rifle (SPG), SS Blackout, mortar weapons to Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS).
This event is also a momentum for PT Pindad to introduce and inaugurate the 4×4 electric operational vehicle, Pandu. This vehicle is intended to support TNI operations with tactical capabilities that are powered by electricity (BEV – NMC battery). Using a 3 in 1 Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor type electric motor, Pandu is capable of traveling at a safe speed of 100 km/hour with a range of up to 400 km.
Meanwhile, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) focuses on the commercialization of superior products, from aircraft to weapons systems. With a series of strategic products, PTDI showcased its various capabilities in the development of special mission platforms on CN235-220 aircraft and Bell 412 helicopters for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) operations, production of Folding Fin Aerial Rocket (FFAR) and Wrap Around Fin Aerial Rocket (WAFAR), NC212i and N219 aircraft, development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) products, and other collaborative products with domestic and international industries.
From the maritime side, PT PAL Indonesia as a warship shipyard is not only capable of building ships, but also master the role as a system integrator for platforms and Sewaco. PT PAL displays a number of superior products, in the form of support ships such as the Landing Platform Dock (LPD) 163 and the Hospital Auxiliary Ship (BRS) which are technological developments from LPD. In the combat ship segment, PAL presents the Fast Missile Ship (KCR), Frigate ships, and Scorpene submarines which are proof of mastery of the highest technology in ship construction. In addition to ship construction, PT PAL also works on hundreds of maintenance projects, including warships up to the overhaul level.
Meanwhile, PT Dahana came with high energy products and integrated blasting services such as Bomb P Series, RAJATA (Drone Kamikaze), BNT 250, Merapi Missile, Anti-Tank Weapon (SLT), Rocket Launch Vehicle 122, Double Base/Spherical Powder Propellant for Munitions, Dayagel Extra, Dayagel Seismic, Dayadet In hole Delay, Long Period, Short Period, Dayaprime Booster, Danfo, Dabex, Dawagel, Dahana Prill, Shaped Charges.
