Students of the Faculty of Mining Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya (UMTAS) visited PT DAHANA for an industrial visit program. The UMTAS group was welcomed at the DAHANA Subang Campus on July 25, 2023.
In his remarks, PT DAHANA’s Senior Manager Legal & Corporate Communication, Juli Jajuli conveyed about the philosophy of DAHANA’S CAMPUS.
“The DAHANA campus is part of the Energetic Material Center area. This is a center for research, development and production of high-energy materials. The name Campus does not refer to a college; instead, it is short of ‘Kantor Manajemen Pusat’. However, philosophically the DAHANA Campus is also a place for academics, practitioners and observers of explosives to share knowledge,” said Mr Jajuli.
Mr Jajuli added that DAHANA has built various facilities such on the nearly 600 hectare land, such as the Energetic Material Center (EMC) which has the largest explosives facility in ASEAN. In addition, DAHANA built Central Management Office which is certified with the Green Building certificate from GBCI, a meeting hall, and various other complementary facilities.
As the mecca of Indonesian explosives, DAHANA has been operating throughout Indonesia, both in general mining, quarries and construction, oil and gas and defense related. The Company is also actively involved in the success of the National Strategic Project (PSN), a government program to support equity and progress for the national economy.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Mining Engineering UMTAS Doctor Waspada Kurniadi said that the student group was very grateful for the warm welcome from PT DAHANA. He hoped that UMTAS mining engineering students participating in the visit program could learn how mining explosives are produced.
“I would like to thank PT DAHANA in advance. We also pray for PT DAHANA to be more successful, advanced, and develop its operations, which are currently developing throughout Indonesia. Hopefully we can all benefit from today’s visit,” said Doctor Kurniadi.
Following the presentation, the students had the opportunity to go on a plant tour to see firsthand the production process of non-electronic detonator explosives and quality tests in the Energetic Material Center (EMC) area. At the end of the program, PT DAHANA handed blasting dummy blasting that the students can use in their campus.
