PT DAHANA held an event to inform the surrounding community about the risks associated with the Company’s activities. This event took place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Bale DAHANA in Subang, West Java. Representatives from four neighboring hamlets—Dukuh, Cikareo, Sadawarna, and Sari Asih—attended the socialization, along with members of the Sadawarna village administration.
Sudirjo Heru, the DAHANA’s General Manager of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment emphasized the importance of transparent communication regarding potential risks from company operations and the preventive measures being implemented. He hoped that the community will recognize and understand these risks to effectively manage them.
“We are committed to maintaining transparency and providing the public with a clear understanding of the safety measures we implement. The safety and comfort of local residents are among our top priorities, and this forum serves to strengthen the relationship between residents and the company,” said Mr Heru.
The socialization included a presentation by Roikhatus Solikhah, the Assistant Manager of Occupational Health Safety and Environment (OHSE) Unit at PT DAHANA. She covered various aspects of workplace safety and emergency response procedures. A key point she emphasized was the importance of maintaining a safe distance during blasting quality tests and the prohibition against approaching the blasting area without permission.
Ms Solikhah also outlined DAHANA’s risk mitigation efforts, which include installing embankments around warehouses and factories, conducting routine safety briefings, performing periodic checks on lightning rods, and monitoring the environment both within DAHANA and in the surrounding area. These measures aim to minimize potential risks from the company’s activities.
Maman, a resident who attended the socialization event, expressed appreciation for DAHANA’s efforts to explain the risks to the local community. He noted that the information provided helped him feel more alert and reassured.
“We believe this event is very important because knowing the risks allows us to anticipate what to do if something happens and whom we should coordinate with. This knowledge certainly brings us peace of mind,” said Mr Maman.
