DAHANA’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit handovers production facilities in the form of food dryers to smoked banana artisans. The assistance was delivered directly by the Head of DAHANA’s SER Unit Eman Suherman to Ai Wati in Dukuh 2, Sadawarna Village, Cibogo District, Subang Regency, on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Mr Suherman said that PT DAHANA is a company that is highly committed to mutual progress and development with the local community one of which is by supplying business equipment assistance to residents to increase their productivity and economy.
“In addition, this activity is a form of DAHANA’s efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pillar 8, namely decent work and economic growth. Hopefully this assistance can make the recipients more productive and ultimately bring prosperity to their families,” said Mr Suherman.
Ai Wati is an artisan of smoked banana or sale, a snack rich in antioxidants and commonly found in Indonesia. Previously, Ai Wati dried bananas by drying them directly under the sun. The risk of drying under the sun is the rain that prevents the smoked banana from drying therefore slows down the production process.
The DAHANA’s SER team assessed that Indonesia is a tropical country with a rainy season that can disrupt the production process of smoked banana. Therefore, SER provided Ai Wati’s with production facility that helps her business run smoothly in any weather conditions.
Furthermore, Mr Suherman explained that MSMEs are one of the pillars of the Indonesian economy that must be considered, fostered and developed to allow them to advance. So far, DAHANA’s SER has provided guidance to the marketing of Subang MSME products, both domestically and internationally.
“DAHANA’s SER not only provides production facilities, our team is usually involved in fostering UMKM activists for work of packaging, online marketing and participation of partner products in various exhibitions both at home and abroad. Alhamdulillah, some of the partners have moved up to a higher class and gain the trust of international consumers,” added Mr Suherman.
