Majelis Taklim (nonformal Islamic study group) Tatali Wargi of DAHANA hosted a recitation titled “Maintaining Harmony in the Household,” presented by Ustadz T. Munandar Hilmi S. Ag. The event took place at the Tatali Wargi DAHANA Office in Subang, West Java, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, and was attended by members of Tatali Wargi and employees of DAHANA.

In her opening speech, the Chairperson of DAHANA Tatali Wargi DAHANA, Arum Manggarsari, emphasized the relevance and importance of the theme. She noted that the household is a fundamental foundation of life that requires attention, love, and affection.

“Hopefully, through this Majelis Taklim, we can gain knowledge, understanding, and practical solutions for building a harmonious and blessed household, and we can implement what we learn in our daily lives,” Ms Manggarsari expressed.

Following her remarks, Ustadz T. Munandar Hilmi presented material on the significance of household harmony in Islam. He explained that an Islamic household serves as the primary foundation for creating a blessed and prosperous civilization.

Harmony within a household is not solely based on the compatibility between husband and wife; it also involves mutual understanding, respect, and support. In Islam, a household is a sanctuary for nurturing love, affection, and tranquility, as highlighted in Surah Ar-Rum, verse 21 of the Quran.

Furthermore, he remarked that maintaining household harmony requires careful consideration of aspects such as communication, mutual understanding, and a commitment to drawing closer to Allah SWT (Glory to God, the Exalted). Only through His guidance can individuals foster relationships filled with blessings.

He also pointed out that effective communication among family members plays a crucial role in achieving household harmony, as indicated in Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 70, which advises speaking kindly to one another to enhance relationships.

To cultivate love and affection within the household, Islam encourages family members to give gifts to one another. Blessings in the home can also be attained by relying on Allah SWT through collective worship, seeking closeness to the Most Merciful, and uplifting each other through prayer.
