Participants of PPSDM Geominerba Class 1 Blasters visited PT DAHANA in order to increase and expand their knowledge on explosives. The KJL group was warmly welcomed by Acting Vice President of DAHANA’s Energetic Material Center (EMC) Dadan Munawar at DAHANA Campus, Subang, on Monday, 30 October 2023.
In his speech Mr Munawar explained that PT DAHANA Energetic Material Center (EMC) area is an integrated area for research, development and production of commercial and military explosives. It even includes a blasting quality test area which can be benefitted as a learning facility.
Currently, DAHANA EMC is a 500-hectare area known as the vicinity with the most complete explosives facilities in the ASEAN region and has become a National Vital Object area where DAHANA enjoys explosives production and warehousing facilities, offices and community service buildings such as Bale DAHANA, Taman Canda, and forests which function as natural security fences.
“DAHANA has the capability to manufacture upstream to downstream explosives; with explosives manufacturing in Subang to drilling and blasting services downstream. One of DAHANA’s advantages is that it has experienced professional staff members who have been tested in various fields, including open-pit mining, underground and underground tunneling,” said Mr Munawar.
DAHANA has business lines that include drilling and blasting services, explosives manufacturing, defense related and related services. DAHANA’s business sectors cover the general mining sector, quarrying and construction, oil and gas, and the military sector.
The Center for Human Resources, Geology, Minerals and Coal Development (PPSDM Geominerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia regularly sends First Class Blasters to DAHANA for training. Currently 15 participants have had the opportunity to learn and see firsthand the explosives production process available at DAHANA.
“We would like to thank PT DAHANA for facilitating this activity. We are very happy to have been given the opportunity to visit one of the leading explosives manufacturing factories in Indonesia. The visit allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the technology developed by PT DAHANA; the knowledge that can be directly utilized by participants at their respective project site locations. In addition, the visiting participants also have the opportunity to ask as many questions as possible about the technological innovations developed at PT DAHANA,” said Charles Tambunan, a representative of First Class Blasters of PPSDM Geominerba.
