PT DAHANA delivered assistance with fogging or fumigation of dengue fever mosquitos to help the Subang community to realize “Healthy Village” program and prevent the spread of the dengue mosquito. This activity was carried out in Cikareo neighbourhood in Sadawarna village, Cibogo District, Subang Regency, West Java, on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Head of PT DAHANA’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) unit, Eman Suherman, said that the company also collaborated with environmental health workers from the Cibogo Community Health Center, Sadawarna village government, and the head of Cikareo neighbourhood to accompany the fogging process carried out by DAHANA.

“We were accompanied by Mr Muhammad Arif from the Cibogo Community Health Center, Mr. Sopyan from the Sadawarna village government, and the Head of Cikareo neighbourhood Mr Musli for our fogging this time. DAHANA also expressed its deep condolences to the casualties of the vicious aedesaegypti mosquito. “Hopefully this fogging can prevent the spread of mosquitoes to make sure that more people are getting safer,” said Mr Suherman.

According to the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, dengue cases are caused by changing seasons. The Ministry of Health noted that by April 2024, the dengue cases in Indonesia had reached 53,131 people, with a death toll of 404.

Subang Regency is one of the districts with the most cases and has been designated as an Extraordinary Case of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (KLB DBD), with 909 dengue fever cases resorted to related treatment and 18 deaths. Director General Maxi also said that dengue fever cases had not yet reached their peak and asked the public to maintain their health and the environment.

Meanwhile, Eman Suherman added, DAHANA is ready to help the community, especially those around the company, by giving fogging sessions. After Cikareo neighbourhood, DAHANA will again carry out fogging in various neighbourhoods in Sadawarna Village.

“DAHANA has been performing fogging in the office area on the Subang Campus, and in Cikareo neighbourhood in the future the SER team will also focus fogging activities in other naeighbourhood in Sadawarna village. Hopefully this activity will run smoothly, and every soul, both DAHANA employees on campus and the surrounding community, can be protected from this outbreak,” concluded Mr Suherman.
