In observance of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month, PT DAHANA’s production and warehousing employees participated in the “Safety Begins with Teamwork” activity which took place at Situ Cileunca, Pangalengan, Bandung Regency on February 1, 2025. This event was held as an event to strengthen togetherness while instilling a culture of safety in the work environment.
The event began with remarks from Acting VP for Energetic Material Center (EMC) DAHANA Teja Sukmara who emphasized that the commemoration of OHS Month at DAHANA should not just be a ceremony, rather an important momentum for the Company to continue to strengthen its commitment to occupational safety. He hoped that employees can improve their discipline in implementing safety procedures both when working or outside of working hours.
“As a company with high work risks, DAHANA must place OHS as a top priority in order to create a safe and healthy work environment. Hopefully, with this activity, we can all increase awareness to collaborate to realize and maintain zero accident,” said Mr Sukmara.
Meanwhile, DAHANA Senior Production Manager Shahibuddin Ma’ruf highlighted the importance of teamwork in maintaining safety. According to him, good teamwork can not only increase productivity but also increase concern for safety among each other.
“Safety is not only the responsibility of the company but also the responsibility of each individual which will increase with a solid team. Every employee must have the awareness to remind each other and work together in facing challenges in the workplace,” he said.
At that moment, the committee provided a Fun Games event which was the highlight of the event. The games, which were specifically designed to build cooperation and communication, provided an in-depth experience for the participants. Each challenge given was not only entertaining, but also taught important values in working as a team. One of the games that was quite interesting was the competition to use PPE (personal protective equipment), during which participants were asked to put on PPE correctly in addition to neatness.
The enthusiasm of the participants was seen in every activity carried out. They enthusiastically completed various challenges that honed their coordination and togetherness skills. Acu Wardana, one of the employees, said that this activity helped him understand the importance of effective communication at work.
“We also held a reflection session to link the fun games experience and its relationship to the daily work environment. Each participant shared their experiences and insights about warm collaboration between employees to realize Occupational Health and Safety,” said Mr Wardana
