DAHANA is actively advancing its military explosives technology. Following the successful development of the R-Han 122b rocket in collaboration with the National Rocket Consortium, DAHANA is now focused on the R-Han 450 rocket. This initiative aligns with the commitment of Holding DEFEND ID to support DAHANA in the field of high-energy materials and rocket technology.

Syaifuddin, the President Director of DAHANA, stated that benefitting from the cooperation and oversight of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense’s Research and Development Agency, DAHANA aims to prepare the R-Han 450 ground-to-ground rocket for mass production soon. “First, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Defense for their commitment to our shared goal of developing a defense rocket that can protect the sovereignty of our nation and state,” Mr Syaifuddin expressed.

He also wished that the strong collaboration among all stakeholders, including the Research and Development Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and BRIN, would help the domestic defense industry advance and become a significant player in the global defense supply chain. “We kindly ask for support from all parties to make sure the R-Han 450 can achieve successful results in the final static testing stage and smoothly progress through the subsequent phases, ultimately leading to mass production by DAHANA,” Mr Syaifuddin said in Jakarta on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Suhendra Yusuf RPN, DAHANA’s Director of Technology & Development reported that the R-Han 450 has undergone various tests since 2018, including flight tests and static tests in 2022, demonstrating progress in performance. The R-Han 450 measures 7.8 meters in length, with a diameter of 46 centimeters, and a total weight of 1,900 kilograms. “This rocket has a range of more than 100 kilometers and can reach speeds of up to 4,500 km/h,” Mr Yusuf explained.

In addition to the R-Han 450, DAHANA is also working on various military explosive technologies to enhance the independence of the national Defense and Security Equipment (Alpalhankam). This includes the development of Smart Bombs for UAVs and the establishment of a propellant production facility.

“Alongside the R-Han 450 development, DAHANA is collaborating with the Research and Development Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to establish a propellant factory. Propellant is a key raw material for producing both small-caliber ammunition and large-caliber ammunition. Once again, we seek the prayers of all Indonesian people, hoping that DAHANA’s efforts will run smooth and successful, contributing to the glory and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia,” concluded Mr Yusuf.
