DAHANA held In-house Training (IHT) on the Semi-auto Operation of Mobile Manufacturing Truck (MMT) in order to equip new MMT Semi-auto operators with related knowledge as well as to give some refreshment on the use of MMT for various DAHANA sites in several regions. The MMT IHT is taking place from 12 to 15 September 2023 at the DAHANA Campus in Subang.

In his speech, DAHANA’s Manager of Equipment and Facilities Design and Technology, Shahibdin Ma’ruf, said that the IHT MMT agenda includes the introduction of the Semi-auto MMT unit, operations and maintenance, which consists of the prime-mover, hydraulic system, and MMT control system.

“We hope that this IHT can help MMT operators carry out operational and maintenance activities. “Smooth performance of MMT operations will really help DAHANA in the field which in turn affects the effectiveness and efficiency of blasting and most importantly customer’s satisfaction,” said Mr Ma’ruf.

MMT is a truck that is equipped with mobile explosive mixing technology facilities at the blasting location, with the ability to transport and mix certain materials required until they become explosive products that are ready to be inserted into the firing holes and directly initiated. Dabex, Danfo and Dawagel are the final products produced by MMT.

The MMT innovation project started with the Karimun project. Since then DAHANA’s High Energy Materials Center (EMC) has developed MMT capabilities through some researches and engineering of mobile manufacturing units for consumers with a capacity of 2 to 20 tons. In this researches, DAHANA underwent a series of trials so that MMT could be operated in various climatic and terrain conditions in the field.

Technically, the loading control system was also adopted and applied to MMT to increase the effectiveness of MMT operations. Several trucks such as SCANIA, VOLVO have been used as prime movers. This MMT 36 uses a RENAULT 6×6 prime mover. To date, EMC DAHANA has produced 35 MMT units spread across all DAHANA project sites.

Mr Ma’ruf added that the hike in MMT units’ production is a proof that DAHANA’s mobile explosives factory has achieved significant increase in customers’ satisfaction. The presence of MMT allows the consumers to benefit from more effective distribution of explosives. In addition to that, DAHANA’s MMT can be used in the general mining and quarry sectors.

“For a smooth maintenance process in the field, the engineering team will open further contact or communication with all MMT operators making sure that any doubts or problems with MMT can be resolved immediately. “We also wish to get some inputs from fellow operators for the process of improving MMT to ensure DAHANA’s MMT become the best MMT in Indonesia,” concluded Mr Ma’ruf.
