PT DAHANA hosted a visit from students in the Mining Engineering Master’s Study Program of FTTM ITB for a field excursion on Explosives and Blasting Technology. The students and their lecturers were welcomed by Hary Irmawan, the President Director of DAHANA, at the DAHANA Campus in Subang, West Java, on May 19, 2025.

Dr. Eng. Ganda Marihot Simangunsong, S.T., M.T., the supervising lecturer, emphasized in his speech that field excursions are an effective learning method that bridges the gap between theory and practice. By engaging with industrial companies like PT DAHANA, students can gain valuable firsthand experience related to the explosives production process, work safety management systems, and the role of explosives in enhancing mining operational efficiency.

“PT DAHANA, as a strategic BUMN engaged in both commercial and military explosives, provides a valuable opportunity to enrich students’ understanding of the technology and systems used in the explosives industry. We hope that DAHANA will support our students in collaborating on research that can contribute to their theses,” said Dr Simangungsong.

Mr Irmawan explained that the name “Campus” in the Company’s title derives from “Central Management Office.” Although it serves as an office, it still embodies the philosophical essence of being a meeting place for researchers, academics, professionals, and students to exchange knowledge and innovations related to explosives.

PT DAHANA has become a hub for Indonesian explosives, possessing the most comprehensive explosives facilities in Southeast Asia. In Subang, DAHANA has established an Energetic Material Center, which includes office spaces, warehouses, and explosives factories.

Mr Irmawan also highlighted that DAHANA is involved in diverse business sectors such as general mining, construction, quarrying, oil and gas, as well as military explosives. The Company provides a range of services, including blasting, drilling, licensing, warehousing, loading and hauling, shipping, and explosives destruction.

“Welcome to the DAHANA Campus, fellow ITB students. Alhamdulillah, DAHANA continues to earn the trust of various consumers across Indonesia and routinely exports explosives abroad. Please pray for DAHANA’s ongoing growth and development so that it can contribute to the improvement of the Indonesian economy,” concluded Mr Irmawan.
