PT DAHANA’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit donated clean water borehole well to SMPN 2 Cibogo as anticipation to the upcoming dry season. Head of SER Unit Eman Suherman directly handed over the equipment to Dian Sariati, Principal of SMPN 2 Cibogo, in Subang, West Java, on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
In his remarks, Mr Suherman said that the need for clean water increases greatly in the dry season, just like the Subang community who often have difficult access to clean water during the dry season. He wished that the assistance from DAHANA can be an example for other institutions to collaborate and work together to ease the burden faced by the community.
“DAHANA is committed to advancing and developing together with the community, and therefore, DAHANA is also present to help solve the community’s problems, such as providing clean water well in anticipation to the dry season. Hopefully this can inspire other companies or institutions in Subang to do the same cause,” said Mr Suherman.
He added that learning from the experience of the past few years, the dry season has brought many losses to the community, disrupted community activities, and threatened the economy of the community who depend on agriculture that requires clean water.
In addition, Mr Suherman said that teaching and learning activities are a milestone for achieving Indonesia Emas 2045. DAHANA’s SER also has an interest in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the education sector. Therefore, he hoped that with this assistance, students of SMPN 2 Cibogo can continue their activities in a more comfortable way.
“During the dry season, we help provide clean water facility considering that fresh water for SMPN 2 Cibogo is supplied from another place which is now getting difficult to obtain. We hope that with this clean water well, students at SMPN 2 Cibogo can get the hold teaching and learning activities comfortably, without having to rely on other sources for their clean water needs,” added Mr Suherman.
DAHANA’s SER Unit has been running its Healthy Village Program since 2023 which was originally intended to help the community around the Company to live healthily and increase community productivity.
