DAHANA has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) and key partners including NSMICO, PT Sari Bahari, and PT Sayap Garuda Lestari. The signing on June 12, 2025, during the Indo Defence 2025 exhibition at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, and was witnessed by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia.

Hary Irmawan, President Director of DAHANA, stated that this MoU is part of the Company’s efforts to foster collaboration among industry, academia, and domestic strategic partners in support of the independence of explosives technology and national weapons systems. The collaboration will focus on the development of high-energy materials, technology transfer, improving human resources, and enhancing missile and launcher systems.

“This collaboration is a concrete step toward building an independent and competitive national defense ecosystem. We believe that strengthening synergy among the defense industry, universities, and national strategic partners will accelerate the mastery of critical technologies and expand domestic innovation,” said Mr Irmawan.

The MoU between DAHANA and NSMICO, PT Sari Bahari, and PT Sayap Garuda Lestari establishes cooperation in the development of high-energy materials (explosives), provision of explosives, technology transfer, and related services. Each party will fulfill its role in accordance with its respective responsibilities and authorities.

Conversely, the MoU with Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) concentrates on improving human resource quality and advancing the science and technology of explosives, particularly in the areas of guided missiles and launcher systems. This collaboration also paves the way for research collaboration and applied educational initiatives.

As part of the national defense industry holding DEFEND ID, DAHANA aims to reinforce its position as Indonesia’s leading explosives company. Mr Irmawan expressed hope that the collaboration outlined in the MoU will proceed smoothly and yield positive outcomes for the independence of the national defense industry.
