PT DAHANA showcased its explosives innovations at the Indonesia Africa Forum (IAF) 2024. A total of 106 companies from Africa and 350 Indonesian businesspeople attended the event which was opened by President Joko Widodo. The forum under the title of “Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063” took place at the Mulia Nusa Dua Hotel, Bali, on August 2-3, 2024,
In his remarks, President Jokowi conveyed that the presence of international leaders and organizations at the Indonesia Africa Forum was to create positive change amidst the challenges faced by the world today, such as slowing economic growth, unemployment rates, and the inflation.
In addition, the President deeply regretted the declining spirit of multilateralism and international solidarity, and increasingly widening fragmentation, resulting in poor geopolitical conditions and disrupting the global supply chain while claiming many lives.
“Ultimately, developing countries are the most affected. Millions of people in developing countries are the ones who feel the most hardship. In fact, there are only 6 years left until 2030 and only 17 percent of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target has been achieved,” said the President at the opening of the IAF, August 2, 2024.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT DAHANA Syaifuddin welcomed the Indonesia Africa Forum. He said that this forum can be a means to bridge the interests of developing countries, while promoting international collaboration and solidarity amidst worsening world problems.
In addition, as part of the Indonesian SOEs defense industry holding (DEFEND ID), DAHANA has the same ideals to become an important player in the world’s explosives supply chain. The Indonesia Africa Forum is a good step to expand the market to the African continent.
“We really appreciate the organization of the Indonesia Africa Forum 2024. In our opinion, this activity can be a means of promoting innovation results from DEFEND ID, while strengthening cooperation between the Indonesian defense industry and African countries,” said Mr Syaifuddin.
At the Indonesia Africa Forum 2024, PT DAHANA exhibited all mock-ups of explosive products, both commercial and military explosives, such as Danfo, Dabex, Dayagel, Dayadet, Cartridge Emulsion, Shaped Charge, accessories, Mobile Manufacturing Truck (MMT), as well as Bomb P Series, and Defense Rockets.
