PT DAHANA continues to innovate its services in mining explosives. One of PT DAHANA’s current strategic steps is integration program of the digital technology into mining operations. This was stated by PT DAHANA Operational Manager Angga Maulana Drajat in the session Blasting Digitalization Services for Mining Industry session at the 7th International Drill & Blast Conference 2024 at The Trans Luxury Hotel, Bandung, West Java, on July 9, 2024.
In his presentation, Mr Drajat also introduced the profile of PT DAHANA, which is a company with the most complete explosives facilities in Southeast Asia and is engaged in manufacture of explosive both commercial and military sectors. PT DAHANA’s business lines range from drilling & blasting, underground mining, to oil and gas and construction sectors.
“We have an explosives manufacture plant such as Ammonium Nitrate Solution with a capacity of 75,000 tons/year, and other production facilities located in the Subang Energetic Material Center Area. To cut production costs, DAHANA also offers On-site Plant and Mobile Manufacturing Truck which functions as an on-site explosives factory,” said Mr Drajat.
For process of integration of digital technology into mining operations, PT DAHANA collaborates with EPC Asia Pacific which is experienced in the digitalization of blasting. Along with EPC – Asia Pacific, PT DAHANA has developed a sophisticated digital tool that integrates various aspects of blasting. PT DAHANA’s Vertex System offers a comprehensive solution for planning, implementation, monitoring, and analysis, as well as ensuring optimal performance and security systems.
Some of the developed main features of the Vertex System include real-time data collection capable of collecting field data directly for analysis purposes, planning of precision tools to design accurate drilling and blasting based on sophisticated algorithms, performance monitoring to track and assess performance in real time, and comprehensive reporting with detailed reports for evaluation and future development.
Mr Drajat added that the collaboration between PT DAHANA and EPC Asia Pacific in mining technology and digitalization creates a synergistic relationship, where technology provider companies and the explosives industry collaborate for utilization of the most advanced digital tools.
“This strategic collaboration aims to encourage superior operations, improve safety standards, promote sustainability, and encourage innovation. The Vertex System developed by DAHANA and EPC Asia Pacific has passed the trial phase in various blasting projects such as open coal mining, open gold mining, and underground tin mining.
The 7th International Drill & Blast Conference 2024 wa an international conference that brings together experts, practitioners, and blasting technology professionals from around the world. This event was organized by the Indonesia Blasting Engineer Society (IBES) under the theme of “Optimization of Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization in Blasting Industry”.
