PT DAHANA organized an event titled ‘Introduction to Basic Coffee from Seed to Cup’ for employees and the general public in observance of the International Coffee Day 2024. PT DAHAANA’s Director of Finance, Risk Management Ahyanizzaman directly opened the event which was held at Saung Kopi Meranti DAHANA, Subang, on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
In his remarks, Ahyanizzaman said that the International Coffee Day should not only be commemorated to enjoy a cup of delicious coffee, rather it should be a common momentum to build a better future for the world.
“PT DAHANA as a state-owned company that has social responsibility is committed to contributing to the development of a sustainable environment and community empowerment. The real form of such effort lies in the development of the coffee industry in a sustainable manner,” said Mr Ahyanizzaman.
For PT DAHANA, coffee is not just a commodity; it is also considered to have great potential to improve the welfare of the community, especially coffee farmers. PT DAHANA collaborates with the Tangkalna Lestari Forest Farmers Group to utilize the company’s forest land to plant coffee and various other plants.
Through the community empowerment program, PT DAHANA aims to build a sustainable environment by encouraging sustainable coffee farming practices; not only producing high-quality coffee, but also preserving the environment.
Mr Ahyanizaman added that program also aims to help fostered partners move up a class with various training and mentoring for coffee farmers to help increase the productivity and quality of the harvest, and providing opportunities for MSMEs to be involved in the coffee industry, from processing to marketing.
“We hope that through this program, we can commonly build a strong and sustainable coffee ecosystem. Let’s build a strong and sustainable coffee ecosystem together. Finally, congratulations on the commemoration of International Coffee Day, Hopefully a cup of coffee can inspire us all to continue to work and provide benefits to others,” hoped Mr Ahyanizzaman.
At the event, DAHANA invited the 1st t Chairman of the Indonesian Barista Association, Arif Budiawan, to be a speaker on the ‘Introduction to Basic Coffee from Seed to Cup’. This event was also attended by the Head of Rest Area 88 A Cipularang, the Tangkalna Lestari Abadi Forest Farmers Group, Telkom Subang SER, Students Universitas Subang, Cibogo State Vocational School, and DAHANA Employees.
