Director of Operations of PT Indo Muro Kencana, Sutamo Putro, visited the Ammonium Nitrate Factory of PT Kaltim Ammonium Nitrate. The PT IMK group was welcomed by the Acting Energetic Material Center of PT DAHANA Teja Sukmara and representatives of PT KAN in Bontang, East Kalimantan, on Monday, September 23, 2024.
In his remarks, Teja said that PT KAN is a joint venture company between PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur and PT DAHANA. The presence of PT KAN is DAHANA’s commitment to dominate the upstream explosives industry so that it can provide added value to the national economy with a domestic content product more than 90%.
“Welcome Mr. Sutamo Putro and his staff to the Ammonium Nitrate Factory. We hope that the collaboration that has been going well between PT DAHANA and PT IMK can continue to improve in meeting all of PT IMK’s ammonium nitrate needs from PT KAN products, and ultimately can contribute to improving the national economy,” said Mr Kumara.
As is known, the PT KAN Ammonium Nitrate Factory was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo last February aimed at realizing the independence of the ammonium nitrate industry and its derivative products such as fertilizers and explosives in hoping to reduce Indonesia’s dependence on imports. The KAN factory has a production capacity of 75,000 metric tons of ammonium nitrate per year and 60,000 metric tons of nitric acid per year.
Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of PT IMK said that their visit to PT KAN was to see firsthand the Ammonium Nitrate produced by PT KAN and to convey plans for developing cooperation in terms of long-term supply chains between PT DAHANA and PT IMK.
“Thank you for the opportunity given to us to visit the PT KAN ammonium nitrate factory. We hope that PT DAHANA can fulfill 100% of our ammonium nitrate needs in the future. Continued success for DAHANA,” said Mr Putro.
