To help ease the life of the people after the fire, PT DAHANA (Persero) delivered some kitchen utensils to the casualties of fire in the village of Mangkahui. The charity items were delivered by DAHANA team at Jobsite Project (JsP) PT Indo Muro Kencana (IMK) to the said causalities at the office of Mangkahuni village in Central Kalimantan on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
On early morning of Friday, June 14, 2019 at around 02.50, while the people were asleep, the fire burned 24 houses, six swallow breeding house, sport hall and one coupled house belonging to the local government health and two wooden bridges around the market of Mangkahui village at the District of Murung, Regency of Murung Raya, Centrak Kalimantan.
The fire was completely conquered by the local fire brigade with the help of the local community after three hours. No lives were taken, however 115 people from 33 household lost their homes and had to stay in emergency tents made ready the local Board for Disaster Mitigation.
Now the community is in recovery stage and Dahana, being a state-owned company with the jargon of SOE Presence for the Country has initiated to help people restart their normal lives by supplying them with kitchen utensils such as gas stoves, LPG gas bottles and regulator, sauce pans, eating utensils, water pails, sarong and towels..
“We really appreciate the charity. We are much helped with the things we really need after the fire. They have been fairly accommodated fairly,” said one of the casualties.
While operating at the IMK Site, Dahana uses 80% of skilled and non-skilled local people as workers. Apart from DAHANA’s concern with the local community by opening up job opportunities to the local, DAHANA also responds to the people’s condition by delivering necessary assistance the casualties of fire.
The charity delivery ceremony was attended by Mangkahui village chief, casualties of fore and IMK CSR team. Taufan Andrian Putra, Operation Supervisor for DTU I DAHANA wished that the casualties of fire could re-start their normal lives and activities.
“It is our hope that all of the casualties get easier life after the disaster. Let us learn from the incident so that we get the ability to be more aware of fire,” said Taufan.
