DAHANA’ President Director Syaifuddin accompanied by Director ofTechnology and Development Suhendra Yusuf RPN along with DEFEND ID’s Business & Cooperation Director Wahyu Sofiadi participated in the 5K Batik Fun Run & Walk 5K event in Jakarta, on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

The 5K Batik Fun & Walk 5K event was the peak event of the 2024 National Batik Day commemoration organized by the Ministry of Industry through the Directorate General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries together with the Indonesian Batik Foundation. The run route started from Gate 6 of Gelora Bung Karno, and finished in the Plaza Sudirman area.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that the 5K Fun Run & Walk activity is one of the government’s efforts to preserve batik as Indonesian culture. This event also indicated that batik can be used in various activities other than formal events.

“We also see that batik is not only limited to office activities for official (purposes). We can also do informal, casual activities by wearing clothes with batik motifs,” said Mr Kartasasmita the 5K Batik Fun Run and Walk 5K event.

Meanwhile, the DAHANA’s President Director Syaifuddin said that batik is an ancestral heritage that should be maintained and preserved. In addition to being a symbol of the great culture of the Indonesian nation, each pattern on the batik cloth has a deep meaning, story, and philosophical value. Therefore, he was very happy to be involved in the commemoration of National Batik Day 2024.
