PT DAHANA is actively developing products to support Indonesian defense equipment as it approaches 2025. The company, which specializes in high-energy materials, is currently focused on the construction of a Propellant Factory and the development of Smart Bombs and Guided Rockets.
This information was shared by the President Director of PT DAHANA, Syaifuddin, at the Dahana Subang Campus on Friday, December 6, 2024. He emphasized that the company is accelerating the completion of the propellant industry within the DAHANA Energetic Material Center area in Subang, West Java.
“Propellant is a strategic material and a key component of Small Caliber Munitions (MKK), Large Caliber Munitions (MKB), and rockets. Establishing the propellant industry is a crucial step toward achieving independence in the national defense industry,” said Mr Syaifuddin.
The government has shown a strong commitment to supporting the development of propellant factories in Indonesia, which will enhance the independence of the national defense equipment system, particularly in areas such as ammunition and rockets, thereby boosting the competitiveness of the regional defense industry.
In a separate statement, Suhendra Yusuf RPN, DAHANA’s Director of Technology and Development, announced that the company is currently developing a smart bomb to strengthen the air defense system. Recently, one of its flagship products, the Bomb P Series variant known as the P-100L Bomb, was used during the Indonesian Air Force Fire Power Demo exercise. This event, attended by Minister of Defense Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and other military leaders, took place on December 3, 2024, at the Air Weapon Range in Lumajang, East Java. DAHANA’s Bomb P Series includes variants such as the Bomb P-100L, Bomb P-250L, and Bomb P-500L.
“We are very proud that DAHANA’s P-100L bomb was also utilized in the Angkasa Yudha 2024 exercise and yielded favorable results. One of the advantages of our domestic products is their high Domestic Content Level (TKDN), which reaches 86.32%. The collaboration with PT Sari Bahari also ensures efficient use, as we do not require explosives to release the bomb from the bomb rack (using an impulse cartridge),” said Mr Yusuf.
The P-100L bomb is a 100-kilogram explosive with a length of 1,100 mm and a body diameter of 273 mm. It weighs between 100-125 kg and is filled with military-grade explosives. Additionally, this bomb is easy to maintain and store.
During the exercise, Indonesian Air Force pilots executed various maneuvers and aerial displays in Lumajang, simulating the destruction of enemy forces with strategic value. One Indonesian Air Force’s Sukhoi aircraft was observed carrying 18 P-100L DAHANA bombs, successfully dropping them on target with impressive explosive power.
