PT DAHANA’s President Director, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rector of the University of Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya (UMTAS) Neni Nuraeni. The signing took place at the DAHANA Campus in Subang, West Java, on Tuesday, April 26, 2024.

Mr Syaifuddin noted that the collaboration between DAHANA and UMTAS has been ongoing for some time. The signing of this MoU is intended to further strengthen the partnership and synergy between the two institutions, particularly in enhancing education and industry relations.

“Hopefully, this MoU can bring positive benefits to both parties: UMTAS and DAHANA,” said Mr Syaifuddin.

Under the MoU, DAHANA and UMTAS have agreed to collaborate on several initiatives, including: the implementation of education, research, community service, and training; implementation of the Independent Learning for Independent Campus (MBKM) program; collaborative research and resource development.

Additionally, the two institutions will collaborate on scientific activities, studies, seminars, workshops, human resource competency development, and other mutually agreed activities.

Mr Syaifuddin added that UMTAS will fulfill its responsibilities in line with the Catur Dharma of Higher Education, which encompasses education, research, and community service, along with Al-Islam of Muhammadiyah system. Meanwhile, DAHANA will benefit from the implementation of MBKM (independent learning of independent campus) and the results of research and scientific activities conducted by UMTAS.

He expressed hope that the collaboration between universities and the industrial sector would contribute to Indonesia’s progress. Through this partnership, students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the industrial world before graduation, allowing them to understand the realities of the industry and prepare for professional competition.

“For us at PT DAHANA, having discussions about industrial problems on campus means involving experts from both academia and industry. This will create a synergy between the industrial world and universities,” concluded Mr Syaifuddin.

Meanwhile, Ms Nuraeni emphasized the significant benefits that UMTAS has received from the collaboration with DAHANA. She cited DAHANA’s involvement during the accreditation of the UMTAS Mining Department, which received positive feedback from assessors. She wished that the partnership between DAHANA and UMTAS would continue to grow.

“We chose DAHANA because it is essential for academics to collaborate with industry. This partnership will provide students with professional knowledge and valuable experience. Alhamdulillah, some of our graduates are now working at PT DAHANA, and we hope this trend continues for future students,” she said.
