PT DAHANA, represented by Director of Operations Yusep Nugraha, has partnered with EPC Groupe Asia Pacific. This cooperation agreement, initiated by Mr Nugraha and supported by Pascal Montagneux, Strategic Project Director for Sub Area Australasia/Oceania, along with Bertrand Pougny, Chief Development Officer of EPC Groupe, is aimed at addressing consumer needs and challenges. The goal is for DAHANA to provide innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its blasting services.
Mr Nugraha emphasized that collaboration with the Paris-based mining technology company is a strategic move to reinforce DAHANA’s position as a leader in the Indonesian explosives industry. This partnership seeks to improve customer satisfaction and advance the mining sector in the country.
“As a global company, DAHANA is working with EPC Groupe to enhance services for consumers in the mining, construction, and quarry sectors by utilizing cutting-edge technology from EPC Groupe. We hope this collaboration will contribute to the progress of the Indonesian mining industry,” stated Mr Nugraha on November 25, 2024.
During a meeting at the EPC head office, DAHANA and EPC Groupe agreed on three scopes of collaboration. The first involves provision of digital blasting services for both existing and new DAHANA consumers, as well as current EPC Groupe Asia Pacific consumers in the mining, quarry, and construction sectors.
The second scope focuses on supply of tools and equipment to support site projects using advanced technologies, such as Smart MEMU (for open pit), SPUR (for underground), OSP Plant, and developing explosive products tailored to consumer needs. Finally, the third scope entails exploring new business opportunities, including underground blasting services and building demolition, supported by the technology and expertise of EPC Groupe.
Previously, PT DAHANA had implemented EPC Groupe’s Vertex System technology at several of its mining sites. The Vertex System is a sophisticated digital ecosystem that integrates various components of the drilling and blasting process. It offers a comprehensive solution for planning, executing, monitoring, and analyzing blasting operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
This technology features real-time data collection from the field for instantaneous hybrid analysis (both offline and online), precision planning tools that utilize advanced algorithms to design effective drilling and blasting plans tailored to specific field conditions, and capabilities for monitoring performance in real time with high accuracy. Additionally, it provides detailed reporting to evaluate blasting outcomes and inform improvements for future projects through a web-based platform.
“The feedback from our consumers regarding the Vertex System has been overwhelmingly positive. Therefore, we aim to enhance our collaboration with EPC Groupe. We also aspire to transfer this technology and develop our capabilities independently in the future,” Mr Nugraha concluded.
