PT DAHANA has officially inaugurated two new facilities—the On-Site Plant (OSP) and the Waste Oil Processing Plant (WOPP)—in collaboration with PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA). The inauguration took place at the Banko Explosives Warehouse of PTBA in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Abdul Haris Atbaro, DAHANA’s Director of Operations, and Suhedi, PTBA’s Director of Operations and Production, signed the inscription and cut the ribbon to mark the occasion.

Mr Atbaro, highlighted the strong partnership between PT DAHANA and PTBA, which began in 2017 when DAHANA commenced providing blasting services and supplying explosives. Over the past seven years, this collaboration has achieved many positive milestones.

Mr Atbaro stated, “The establishment and operation of these two facilities reflect our commitment to innovation, workplace safety, and environmental sustainability. We are confident that this partnership will continue to thrive, expanding beyond blasting services to include the development of increasingly modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible mining technologies and practices.”

Mr Atbaro further explained that the OSP facility will produce bulk emulsion explosives known for their high stability and energy levels. Having the OSP located on-site will enhance the efficiency of distribution, speed up services, and enable direct quality control at the production point.

The WOPP facility, on the other hand, will process waste oil into raw materials that can replace diesel in the formulation of emulsion products. This facility will not only lower production costs and improve efficiency for the company but will also support sustainable mining practices and help mitigate the environmental impact of used oil waste.

Suhedi, PTBA’s Director of Operations and Production, mentioned that the inauguration of OSP and WOPP aligns with PTBA’s 44th Anniversary theme, “Rearranging, Igniting Change.” These facilities exemplify the synergy and collaboration that reflect the shareholders’ mandate to contribute to national development.

“‘Rearranging’ signifies the transformation of PTBA’s mining methods through the use of cutting-edge technology, including more environmentally friendly explosives. Meanwhile, ‘igniting change’ describes our efforts to enhance productivity and efficiency, one of which involves processing used oil waste into value-added products,” Mr Suhedi explained.
