Clean Water Well for Cikareo Hamlet

The Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit of PT DAHANA has delivered assistance in the form of drilled well packages and clean water collection facilities for the residents of Cikareo 3 Hamlet, located in Sadawarna Village, Subang Regency, West Java. The assistance was handed over directly by SER’s Chair Eman Suherman to RT 018/RW 009 representative Wahyono in Hamlet 3 of Cikareo on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Mr Suherman stated that the obligation to drill clean water wells demonstrates the company’s commitment to progress and community development. This initiative also reflects the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 6, which emphasizes clean water and proper sanitation.

“As mandated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, DAHANA’s SER is executing a clean water wells and ablution facilities assistance program for the residents of Cikareo Hamlet. We hope that this assistance will be optimally utilized by the communit,” said Mr Suherman.

Access to clean water is a fundamental need, especially for those living in Subang. Having clean water available makes it easier for residents to bathe, wash, and maintain hygiene, protecting them from various health issues associated with inadequate clean water.

Mr Suherman emphasized that ensuring access to clean water in underserved communities is a shared responsibility. Effective collaboration among all stakeholders—government, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector—is essential to provide residents with easy access to clean water. Clean water is vital for the health and productivity of the community.

Access to clean water is not just a challenge for the people of Cikareo 3 Hamlet in Sadawarna Village. Eman hoped that DAHANA’s social initiatives will inspire other companies operating in Subang to contribute to achieving comprehensive clean water access throughout Subang Regency.

In response, Mr Wahyono expressed the community’s gratitude toward DAHANA for addressing their clean water needs. He also wished for the continued advancement and development of DAHANA, enabling more residents to benefit from the SER program.
