The Director of Technology and Development, Yusep Nugraha Rubani, served as the Inspector of the Ceremony to commemorate the 76th National Defense Day. This event took place at the PT DAHANA Football Field in Subang, West Java, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, and was attended by all employees of the Subang Campus.
For his remarks, Mr Rubani read out the mandate from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto. The President emphasized that the commemoration of National Defense Day honors the struggle of heroes who defended the country’s sovereignty during the Dutch Military Aggression on December 19, 1948.
“The heroes demonstrated their resilience and dedication in reclaiming the Capital City of Yogyakarta, which at that time symbolized the government of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI),” stated the President in his address.
This year, the government adopted the theme “Encourage National Defense for an Advanced Indonesia” for the 76th National Defense Day. This theme highlights the importance of all Indonesian citizens contributing meaningfully in various areas of life, including ideology, politics, economics, socio-culture, education, technology, defense, and security, in order to realize an Advanced Indonesia.
Prabowo emphasized that the responsibility of defending the country is not solely that of the Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the National Police (Polri), but is a duty for all components of the nation. Using the collective spirit of national defense from all Indonesians, he expressed confidence that Indonesia can overcome numerous challenges and achieve its national aspirations.
“National defense is a national goal that our nation strives for. The objective of the Republic of Indonesia is to safeguard every Indonesian citizen, ensure the nation’s safety, protect the nation’s wealth, and secure our future. This can only be assured through a strong defense,” the President concluded.
Meanwhile, Mr Rubani highlighted that as part of the DEFEND ID defense industry holding, DAHANA shares the same obligation to promote national defense values. He expressed hope that all DAHANA employees will approach their work more seriously, recognizing their role in the national defense effort.
“As a member of DEFEND ID, with the responsibility of leading the Indonesian defense industry in the energetic materials sector, our work at DAHANA represents a contribution to the defense of the country and the pursuit of an Advanced Indonesia. I encourage all DAHANA employees to maximize their contributions through this company,” said Mr Rubani.
