Covid-19 cases in East Java Province are increasing, especially in Surabaya. Up to the moment, Surabaya is still classified as a Covid-19 spread red zone. The Republic of Indonesia Covid-19 Task Force, the Ministry of SOEs and PT DAHANA (Persero) work in collaboration to provide the necessary assistance.
The increase in positive cases of Covid-19 has caused the need for more Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). For handling just a single case, at least 35 PPE sets are required by the medical authorities from the time the patient is admitted he is declared cured, while for Hazmat, the Lung Clinic Dr Sutomo Surabaya Hospital requires at least 300 Hazmats per day.
Realising such high need, Finance and HR Director of PT DAHANA (Persero) Asmorohad got the initiative to donate PPE to Surabaya, precisely to the Lung Clinic of Dr. Sutomo Surabaya General Hospital, which is one of the Covid-19 referral hospitals. On Friday, July 3, 2020, Asmorohadi delivered PPEs. The funding for this donation was made from the religious holiday allowance of DAHANA’s Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners.
The delivery of PPEs from this explosives manufacturer was received by Dr. Helmia Hasan and Dr. Daryanto from RSUD Dr. Sutomo Surabaya. The doctor expressed his gratitude to DAHANA, because PPE assistance was really needed by the Hospital in handling Covid-19 patients.
“Hopefully DAHANA’s assistance can help accelerate the handling of Covid-19 in Surabaya, especially for the Lung Clinic of Dr. Sutomo Surabaya Hospital,” Asmorohadi said.
During the handover process, it turned out that Dr. Daryanto who accompanied Dr. Helmia Hasan, is a former teacher of one of the high schools in Surabaya where Asmorohadi used to go to school. As a result there was a warm conversation between the teacher and students who had not seen each other for a long time.
Apart from Dr. Sutomo Surabaya Hospital, PT DAHANA (Persero) also provided assistance in the form of PPE, basic necessities, supporting facilities for handling corona virus, in several locations in Subang, Jakarta, and other areas where the explosive company operate. This assistance is a form of concern for the board of directors and the board of commissioners for speeding the handling of Covid-19. (yz)
