To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, PT Dahana planted 2,000 mangrove trees in Legonwetan Village, Legonkulon District, Subang Regency, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Carrying the slogan “It’s Time to Work for the Climate,” this activity is part of the company’s commitment to supporting climate change mitigation and sustainable coastal ecosystem conservation.

On this occasion, a certificate of appreciation was presented to PT Dahana from the West Java Provincial Forestry Service for its contribution to environmental conservation. The event also included a symbolic handover of mangrove seedlings to the Legonwetan Forest Farmers Group (KTH), the area’s management partner.

PT Dahana’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Manager, Soffia Mustikasari, stated that this activity demonstrates the company’s commitment to creating a positive impact on the environment and the community.

“Through this mangrove planting, PT Dahana wants to make a real contribution to maintaining the balance of coastal ecosystems while supporting efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change. We hope that this collaboration with the government, communities, and forest farmer groups will provide sustainable benefits for the environment and future generations,” said Soffia.

Meanwhile, Jamin Hermawan, S.ST., a representative from the West Java Provincial Forestry Service, expressed his appreciation for PT Dahana’s involvement in supporting coastal rehabilitation through the mangrove planting program.

“The participation of the business sector is crucial in supporting environmental conservation. Mangrove planting not only protects the coastline from abrasion but also serves as a natural solution for absorbing carbon emissions and maintaining the sustainability of coastal ecosystems,” he said.

This 2,000 mangrove planting program is a collaboration between PT Dahana’s Environmental and Social Services (TJSL) unit and the K3LH Department as part of the company’s efforts to strengthen sustainable business practices. This initiative also aligns with PT Dahana’s support for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 13 (Addressing Climate Change) through climate change impact mitigation efforts, Goal 14 (Ocean Ecosystems) through the protection of coastal areas and mangrove ecosystems, and Goal 15 (Terrestrial Ecosystems) through biodiversity conservation and environmental rehabilitation.

This year’s mangrove planting program is part of PT Dahana’s ongoing coastal conservation program since 2021. By 2026, PT Dahana will have planted 7,558 mangrove seedlings in the coastal areas of Subang Regency. Through this program, PT Dahana targets planting at least 1,000 mangrove seedlings annually as a long-term commitment to supporting coastal environmental preservation.

In addition to functioning as a conservation effort, mangrove planting plays a strategic role in helping to curb abrasion in the North Coast (Pantura) area, revitalize coastal areas affected by abrasion, and maintain the sustainability of underwater ecosystems that serve as habitats for various coastal biota. Going forward, this program will also support carbon offset calculations as part of the company’s contribution to climate change mitigation and sustainable environmental management.

The activity was attended by PT Dahana’s Social and Environmental Responsibility Manager, PT Dahana’s Health and Safety Manager, and PT Dahana employees who participated in the mangrove planting. Also present were representatives from the West Java Provincial Forestry Service, the Commander of Military District 0509, the Legonkulon Police Chief, the Legonwetan Village Head, and the Head of KTH Legonwetan 1.

Through this activity, PT Dahana continues to strengthen its commitment to implementing sustainability-oriented Social and Environmental Responsibility programs, while supporting joint efforts to preserve the environment for future generations, in line with the spirit of World Environment Day 2026.
