Students of Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Mandiri, Subang, joined a field study on Introduction to the Industrial World at PT DAHANA. The group consisting of 31 students and an accompanying lecturer was welcomed by PT DAHANA’s Senior Manager of Legal and Corporate Communications, Juli Jajuli, at the DAHANA Campus, Subang, West Java on Wednesday, December 20 2023.

On this occasion, Mr Jajuli introduced the history of PT DAHANA whose name was taken from Sanskrit which means ‘fire’, and the birth of DAHANA from the “Menang Project” of the Indonesian Air Force, up to the moment when PT DAHANA was relocated from Tasikmalaya to Subang.

“PT DAHANA has built various facilities on an area of almost 600 hectares, such as an explosives factory, warehouse, meeting hall and a Central Management Office, which is abbreviated as ‘Kampus’. “Even though it is not a university, the DAHANA campus has the same philosophical meaning, namely as Indonesia’s center for explosives development, research and innovation,” Mr Jajuli explained.

PT DAHANA offers explosives products, drilling and blasting, defense related and related services business lines. The business sectors include the general mining, quarrying and construction, oil and gas and defense explosives sectors.

In addition to that, as the mecca for Indonesian explosives, PT DAHANA is also known as the company with the most complete explosives facilities in ASEAN. PT DAHANA’s job sites can be found across various regions in Indonesia, and explosive products manufactured by DAHANA’s Energetic Material Center (EMC) enjoy the trust of the global costumers.

During the visit, after PT DAHANA’s introduction by Mr Jajuli, the students had the opportunity to get an explanation about the Company’s organizational structure and HR development from DAHANA’s Talent Management Supervisor, Ayudia Sasmaya Nazwar.

Universitas Mandiri’s lecturer, Kodar Udoyono, said that the visit of students that he supervised was an effort to directly introduce the world of industry to students in hoping that the students will get a comprehensive understanding the current situation and conditions of the world of work.

“The purpose of the visit to PT DAHANA is to introduce PT DAHANA to Universitas Mandiri students considering that PT DAHANA is one of the largest companies in Subang. It is our hope that this visit can increase students’ interest in getting to know PT DAHANA, and can establish collaboration between Universitas Mandiri and PT DAHANA, especially in human resource development such as internships and on-the-job training for our students,” said Mr Udoyono.
