To commemorate 2026 National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month, PT Dahana held an event titled “Family Safety Support,” embodying the theme “Together for Safety: Workplace Awareness with Family Support.” The event took place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Bale Dahana in Subang, West Java, and was attended by various representatives from the company’s operations.
In her opening remarks, Dewi Kurniaty, General Manager of OHS and Environment at Dahana, emphasized the company’s commitment not only to regulatory compliance but also to fostering a robust safety culture among employees and their families to achieve zero accidents.
“Family is the greatest motivation for every employee to return home safely. We believe that an employee’s optimal health begins at home. Therefore, family support is crucial in maintaining employee focus and alertness, especially in high-risk areas. Strengthening this synergy between the company and their families is the essence of the Family Safety Support program,” said Ms Kurniaty.
To raise awareness about health, the event included a session on Tuberculosis (TB) presented by Wawan Juanda from the Subang Regency Health Office. He stressed the importance of early detection and adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases at work and within families.
Additionally, Ivan Angga Maulana, Dahana’s OHS & Security, discussed Work Area Safety. He outlined the strict security processes and systems implemented by the company to ensure employee safety from the time they begin work until they return home.
The event featured a friendly atmosphere, energized by various interactive games. Participants included personnel from the CE, Danfo, Detonator, Warehousing, and JODD units. The entire program aimed to build collective awareness that occupational safety is a shared responsibility between the company and the employees’ families.
The event also included a presentation by Dadan Munawar, General Manager of Production at PT Dahana. He provided an important reminder that emotional stability and good health fostered at home directly correlate with employee performance at work.
Mr Munawar elaborated on “The Importance of Family Support.” He explained how good communication among family members and a harmonious home environment can reduce employee stress levels. Employees who arrive at work with a calm mind tend to be more focused and compliant with safety procedures, significantly reducing the risk of workplace accidents.
“Don’t let problems at home affect your work. In the explosives industry like Dahana, even a moment of distraction can have fatal consequences. I encourage all parents to be a ‘safety and mental health alarm’ for their partners. The prayers and smiles of family members serve as invisible personal protective equipment (PPE) for us at work,” Mr Munawar concluded.
