PT Dahana officially launched its first export of 18,000 tons of Ammonium Nitrate (AN) to Australia. The export launch took place at the Special Terminal Pier of Tursina Port, Bontang, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, as part of the company’s strategic efforts to expand its international market.

PT Dahana’s Director of Operations, Abdul Haris Atbaro, stated that this inaugural export is the result of the company’s operational readiness and production quality, which have met global standards.

“This export demonstrates that PT Dahana is not only prepared in terms of production capacity but also in terms of quality, safety, and compliance with international standards. This serves as proof that domestic products are capable of competing in the global market. This ammonium nitrate export also complements the export of 250,000 kg of Product Package Emulsion, an explosive material that has already been accepted in the international market and was exported in April 2026,” said Abdul Haris Atbaro.

In line with this, PT Dahana’s President Director, Hary Irmawan, emphasized that this achievement marks an important milestone in the company’s journey toward the global market.

“Today is an important and proud moment for us, as PT Dahana has officially entered the Australian market with its ammonium nitrate product for the first time. This export not only reflects business success but also serves as a symbol of recognition for the national industry’s ability to meet global standards,” said Hary Irmawan.

Australia was chosen as the destination country because it has a highly advanced mining sector and requires large quantities of ammonium nitrate as a primary raw material for blasting. PT Dahana’s ammonium nitrate products are considered to have competitive quality and meet international standards, enabling them to compete in the global market.

The exported ammonium nitrate will be used to support mining operations in Australia, both in open-pit and underground mines. This material plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and productivity of large-scale mining activities.

The Secretary of the Directorate General of Defense Potential at the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General G. Eko Sunarto, also expressed his appreciation for the success of this export.

“The success of this export demonstrates that Indonesia’s strategic industries possess global competitiveness and are capable of contributing to strengthening economic resilience while supporting the nation’s defense capabilities. This marks an important step in driving the growth of exports of Indonesian defense industry products to international markets,” stated Brig. Gen. G. Eko Sunarto.

Teguh Ismartono, Director of Risk Management at PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, also expressed his support for this inaugural export as a form of national industrial synergy.

“This achievement reflects that domestic industrial products have the quality and competitiveness to penetrate international markets. We fully support PT Dahana’s initiative and are optimistic that this will open up broader export opportunities to various countries,” said Teguh.

The Mayor of Bontang, Neni Moerniaeni, also expressed her support for this inaugural export activity and hopes its impact will be felt directly by the community.

“The Bontang City Government highly appreciates PT Dahana’s initiative in carrying out this inaugural export. We hope this success will not only bring prestige to the company and the region but also have a positive impact on local economic growth and improve the welfare of the people of Bontang,” said Neni Moerniaeni.

The success of this inaugural export demonstrates that Indonesia is capable of producing and exporting industrial chemicals that meet high international standards. PT Dahana hopes that these export activities will continue to grow and further strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global supply chain, particularly in the mining sector.

8th Export Shipment to Australia: PT Dahana Strengthens Global Position Through Cartridged Emulsion for Underground Mining

In addition to shipping its first export of 18,000 tons of Ammonium Nitrate (AN) to Australia on April 18, 2026, PT Dahana once again demonstrated its presence in the international market through the export of 250 tons of cartridged emulsion explosives to Australia on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

The export shipment was carried out at Tanjung Priok Port, bound for Port Alma, Queensland, Australia, to meet the needs of Dahana’s strategic partner, Johnex Explosives. This marks Dahana’s eighth export of this product type to Australia.

The exported cartridged emulsion is a high-quality explosive specifically designed for underground mining operations. The superior quality of the products is the primary reason Johnex Explosives consistently relies on PT Dahana to meet its needs.

PT Dahana’s Director of Operations, Abdul Haris Atbaro, stated that the success of this export is the result of the company’s commitment to maintaining product quality and meeting strict international standards.

“The shipment of explosives to Australia has met Dahana’s high quality standards due to the strict requirements of Johnex Explosives. The entire process—from packaging, stacking, palletizing, wrapping, to storage—was carried out with great precision. This also includes the cleaning and washing of containers, as well as fumigation during the final preparation stage, all of which were conducted in accordance with Australian standards,” said Abdul Haris Atbaro.

Furthermore, PT Dahana’s President Director, Hary Irmawan, emphasized that this export serves as proof of the competitiveness of domestic products in the global market.

“The continued trust placed in us by international partners such as Johnex Explosives demonstrates that Dahana’s products are capable of competing and meeting the needs of the global mining industry. This serves as motivation for us to continue improving quality and expanding our export markets,” stated Hary Irmawan.

Teja Sukmara, General Manager of General Mining at PT Dahana, who oversees this export operation, also emphasized the operational readiness and product quality in supporting global market needs.

“Dahana ensures that the entire production process through to delivery adheres to established standards, both in terms of product quality and safety. Dahana’s cartridged emulsion has proven reliable for underground mining needs, thereby meeting the trust of international markets such as Australia,” said Teja Sukmara.

Through these exports, PT Dahana ensures that the quality of its products fully meets the requirements and regulations in effect in Australia, the destination country. This move also strengthens Dahana’s position as a leading explosives company capable of meeting global standards and supporting the international mining industry.
