The Indramayu Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) women conducted a comparative study to the PT DAHANA’s Nursery Edupark in Subang, West Java, on Sunday, October 13, 2024. During the visit, the PKK Indramayu was facilitated by the DAHANA Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Team, Hananda Wiyuga.

In his remarks, Mr Wiyuga said that the DAHANA Nursey Edupark is one of the Company’s efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pillars of the environment, economy, and education.

“Welcome to DAHANA Nursery Nursery. This facility is provided by the Company for the community to exchange ideas, experiences, and learn together about agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries. The facility is especially available for the younger generation to develop their confidence to become farmers, but with competitive income,” said Mr Wiyuga.

Before carrying out activities at the Nursery Edupark, the women along with representatives of Cibogo Vocational School did morning exercises together with the SER team and the Nursery Edupark unit. After that, the visiting participants began to learn about the cultivation of cayenne pepper, from the seeding process to planting.

Participants were then invited to a fish farming place developed by Nursery Edupark, where they learned about the process of raising gourami and tilapia fish. In fish farming, Nursery Edupark DAHANA uses the best technology so that it can provide good harvest results.

One of the interesting things about the PKK Indramayu visit to Nursery Edupark DAHANA was the cultivation of Sentul chickens. This native Ciamis poultry is famous as broiler and laying chickens that can compete with other breeds of chicken.

“Hopefully through this visit, the PKK women and the vocational school may get increasingly awareness on the importance of cultivating our local food products for national food security. Food cultivation, whether agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, can also bring benefits in terms of independent consumption, and trade which can provide additional income for each household,” said Otang Saepuddin, representative of Nursery Edupark DAHANA.
