PT DAHANA held a meeting to review the 2025 Mining Safety Management System (MSMS) as a strategic step toward improving safety performance in the mining sector. The meeting took place at the Nemuru Grand Suites Hotel in Jakarta on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Hary Irmawan, President Director of PT DAHANA, stated that as part of their risk management control strategy, the Company is committed to implementing good corporate governance principles at all levels of the organization. One of the key actions involves evaluating and monitoring the MSMS to ensure enhanced mining safety performance.
“We appreciate the seven project sites that have successfully achieved an 2024 MSMS audit score above 70%. These sites are JsP Semen Tonasa, JsP JRBM Bakan, JsP Adaro, JsP AGM Rantau, JsP IMK, JsP Semen Padang, and JsP PT Bukit Asam Tanjung Enim. This demonstrates that DAHANA is a credible company in implementing a mining safety system. We hope that other project sites will follow suit,” said Mr Irmawan.
Abdul Haris Atbaro, Director of Operations at PT DAHANA, emphasized the importance of monitoring and evaluating the results of the 2024 MSMS audit. This process aims to identify challenges and provide recommendations for more effective improvements in implementing the mining safety system across the company’s project sites.
“Occupational health and safety (OHS) are our highest priority. It should not only become an individual responsibility but also a key aspect of our work culture that we must apply consistently across all operational lines,” stated Mr Atbaro.
The 2024 MSMS Audit was conducted at 24 PT DAHANA project sites, which are located in various regions throughout Indonesia, including Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and Java. This evaluation serves as a crucial basis for the Company to ensure the implementation of an optimal mining safety system in compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
As a follow-up to the evaluation of the 2024 MSMS SMKP audit results, Mr Atbaro also announced plans to increase the number of MSMS auditors. This addition will be based on field requirements identified in the evaluation and the existing operational areas. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of SMKP monitoring and implementation across all project sites.
In attendance at the meeting were the President Director, Director of Operations, Corporate Secretary, General Manager of DTU, General Manager of DKK, VP SPI, VP EMC, as well as managers and teams from related divisions. Meanwhile, the PJOs and MSMS auditors participated in the meeting online from their respective project sites.
The 2025 MSMS review meeting initiative represents PT DAHANA’s commitment to achieving Good Mining Practices (GMP), as regulated by the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1827 K/30/MEM/2018. Additionally, the meeting addressed the implementation of the Mining Safety System and evaluated the assessment and reporting process as per the Director General’s Decree Number 185.K/37.04/DJB/2019..
“We aim to ensure that all technical, safety, environmental, conservation, and mining service aspects are managed properly and in accordance with regulations. Through continuous evaluation and improvement, DAHANA is optimistic about enhancing mining safety performance and contributing more effectively to the national mining industry,” concluded Mr Irmawan.
