PT Dahana showcased its digital innovation, namely the Vertex System, at Mining Indonesia 2025, which was held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, from September 17-20, 2025. This technology is a solution to improve efficiency and safety in the mining sector by digitizing drilling and blasting operations.

Teja Sukmara, General Manager of PT Dahana’s General Mining, explained that the Vertex System is a digital ecosystem that integrates the entire drilling and blasting process, ranging from planning, implementation, monitoring, to evaluation. This system was developed to make sure mining operations are more measurable, accurate, and transparent.

“The Vertex System has been developed in collaboration with experts in the field of drilling and blasting digitalization based on direct field observations and expert studies. Therefore, this system is designed not only theoretically but also to meet real-world needs at the mine site,” said Mr Sukmara.

One of the key features of the Vertex System, which was originally developed by EPC Groupe and used by PT Dahana, is its ability to collect real-time data, both online and offline. This field data are then processed using sophisticated algorithms to adapt drilling and blasting planning and execution to actual field conditions.

Other than that, the Vertex System enables comprehensive monitoring of blasting performance: tracking, measuring, and assessing blasting results with a high degree of accuracy. Blasting results reports are also presented comprehensively through a web-based interface, allowing for systematic evaluation and improvement.

Mr Sukmara stated that the Vertex System has been tested in blasting operations, including on Dahana’s project with PT CPM in Central Sulawesi. These tests demonstrated significant improvements in blasting quality and a more in-depth analysis of blasting performance.

“Through the Vertex System, Dahana hopes its customers can experience the benefits of more convenient and effective services, from more precise planning, transparent monitoring, to accurate results evaluation. Apart from that, this system also strengthens safety aspects in the field,” Mr Sukmara concluded.
