Mutia Pratiwi Berampu, Marketing and Operations Manager for the Seismic Sector at PT Dahana, stated that Dayagel Seismic was developed with various advantages capable of supporting exploration operations under various extreme conditions, particularly in wet boreholes and during extended “sleeping time” periods.
“Dayagel Seismik offers high detonation velocity, making it effective at generating seismic wave reflections that are then interpreted as subsurface data to identify potential reserves in oil and gas exploration,” said Mutia at the Indonesia Petroleum Association (IPA) Convention and Exhibition 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on May 21, 2026.
Dayagel Seismic is available in two package sizes, 500 grams and 250 grams, which can be tailored to field requirements. The product is packaged in rigid HDPE plastic cartridges with strong screw couplings, providing flexibility in adjusting the per-hole fill volume according to operational needs.
In addition, Dayagel Seismik has very low sensitivity to friction, mechanical impact, and shock, making it safer during storage and handling. From a safety perspective, this product can only be initiated using primary high-explosive detonators.
Another advantage of Dayagel Seismik is its “sleeping time” capability, or the ability to remain in a wet borehole for up to eight weeks. This feature provides greater flexibility in planning field exploration operations.
