PT DAHANA recently hosted a Thematic Recitation event called Metana. The theme of this session was “Becoming the Ideal Young Generation,” featuring Drs. H. Agus Komaruddin, M.Si, Chairman of the Al-Furqon Sukajadi Foundation, as the main speaker. This event took place at the DAHANA Green Mosque in Subang on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Ismail Kurbani, Chairman DAHANA Green Mosque Council, highlighted that the Metana activity aims to engage the younger generation in positive, beneficial, and inspiring endeavors.
“This Metana activity is a weekly program initiated by PT DAHANA employees through the Green Mosque. It is specifically designed for young people in the area, encouraging them to develop into a golden generation, equipped intellectually, mentally, and spiritually,” said Mr Kurbani.
During his sermon, Ustadz Akom emphasized that becoming an ideal young person is not an instantaneous achievement; it requires effort and dedication.
“The ideal doesn’t come suddenly, much like a champion is not born without rigorous training and struggle. Young people must strive diligently, practice, and maintain discipline in their lives to become ideal individuals,” stated Ustadz Akom.
He also outlined the characteristics of an ideal young person, which include gaining approval from both parents and from Allah and the Messenger of Allah, using the Qur’an as a guide, and making heaven their highest aspiration. These values should serve as guiding principles for the younger generation in their lives.
“The Messenger of Allah once said that anyone who seeks knowledge will find it easier to enter heaven. Therefore, continue to learn and seek knowledge from various sources, at any time and place,” added Ustadz Akom.
Additionally, Ustadz Akom recounted the stories of two remarkable young men from ordinary backgrounds, demonstrating that one’s origins do not hinder the path to success and blessings in life. He stressed that the key to success lies in perseverance, prayer, and sincere effort.
“Imam Syafii once advised that if you cannot bear the fatigue of studying, you must learn to endure the pain of ignorance. Don’t let your parents shed tears of disappointment; instead, strive to bring them tears of joy,” concluded Ustadz Akom.
