After two successful past deliveries, the domestic explosives company, PT DAHANA (Persero) again delivered its explosive products to Johnex Explosives in Australia on 23 April 2020.
A total of 215 Tons of 32mm x 700mm Emulsion Cartridge Emulsion in 20 containers was dispatched from PT DAHANA Persero’s Energetic Material Center (EMC), Subang on Thursday, April 23, 2020. On trailers truck Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok port for further shipment to Australia. Upon arrival at the port of destination, DAHANA’s products will be distributed directly to the Johnex Explosives end user warehouses in Australia.
PT DAHANA (Persero)’s Director of Operations Bambang Agung said that the shipment was one of the company’s efforts to continue to maintain the company’s positive performance amidst the global Covid – 19 pandemic.
“Thank God, during this Covid-19 pandemic, DAHANA manages to continue to exist in carrying out the process of exporting explosives to one of our consumers in Australia (Johnex). This proves that DAHANA is able to answer the trust given by consumers abroad with commitment and consistency, “said Bambang Agung during the dispatch.
Despite the fact that business conditions are sluggish due to the co-19 pandemic, the continued export of explosives to Australia also proves that the domestic explosives industry is able to compete within global stage. The quality and ability of DAHANA will be increasingly tested to make business leaps and finally can be taken into account by a wider market, not limited to the Australian market.
Johnex export cargo has previously gone through strict procedures, as conveyed by PT DAHANA (Persero) Dadan Munawar, Senior Manager of General Mining Operations Division 2. According to dadan, some stages of this shipment include manufacture of explosives at the factory, checking of quality control directly by the Johnex Explosives, fumigation and cleaning of cargo containers, and imposing Covid-19 Prevention Protocol applied by Dahana to all personnel of the transport party who will transport explosives inside Dahana warehouse, and delivery in accordance with Australian Inspector standard requirements.
“Apart from being one of the main conditions in cargo shipping according to Australian standards, all of the Johnex cargo containers have been previously fumigated by standardized fumigators and their certification has been recognized by the authorities in Australia. This fumigation certification is the main requirement when inspected by the cargo inspector upon arrival at the port of Australia. Australia has a high standard in the process of export-import shipping, “said Dadan Munawar.
Dadan believes that this third export is a way to increase cooperation and trust between DAHANA and Johnex Australia, both for the supply of explosives to Australia, or the possibility of future collaboration services in underground blasting currently being explored by DAHANA.
PT DAHANA (Persero) is a State-owned Enterprise engaged in the field of explosives for the general mining, quarrying and construction, oil and gas and defense sectors. The export of explosives to Australia started in March 2019 with 37.5 tons in 3 containers; the second export to Australia was carried out in September 2019 with a total of 86 tons in 8 containers, and the current third export to Australia has 215 tons in 20 containers.
