PT DAHANA, an explosives company headquartered in Subang, is implementing a stunting alleviation program. This program is marked by the hand-over of additional food supplies to people in need. This assistance was handed over directly by the Head of DAHANA’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit Eman Suherman to one of the toddlers receiving the assistance. The event, which was witnessed by the Head of the Cibogo Sub-District Government, took place in Cipaku Village, Cibogo Village, Cibogo Subang District on Wednesday, 9 August 2023.
Mr Suherman said that this supplementary feeding program is a form of the Company’s commitment to realizing zero stunting. Assistance was handed over to Dimas, a head of a family who is the foster parent of a child suffering from stunting.
“As an Indonesian explosives mecca company, DAHANA has a high commitment to eradicating stunting. As is known, stunting is a big problem for Indonesia as it results in delays in the process of growth of body and thinking abilities of the nation’s next generation,” said Mr Suherman.
Mr Suherman added that stunting had become a serious concern for the government, amidst the explosion in population, stunting could become a big threat, delays in physical development and thinking skills that would make the cycle of poverty even more difficult to unravel.
Apart from Cibogo District, DAHANA also provided additional food assistance for prevention of stunting in the West Cilendek Village area, West Bogor District. On August 4, 2023, Nina Rusmalina received assistance in the form of additional food for toddlers in the stunting prevention program for 3 months. The assistance is expected to ease the burden on the family as well as Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) cadres in efforts to prevent stunting.
“it is our hope that this assistance can ease the burden on families and help the government and Posyandu women realize the zero stunting program. Hopefully in the future, there will be no more stunting in Indonesia so they can focus on contributing to the independence with an increasingly better quality of life,” concluded Mr Suherman.
