Marking its 60th anniversary, PT Dahana (Persero) has entered a new chapter in its corporate journey by launching an Electronic Detonator and restarting operations at its Booster Plant. These milestones were unveiled during the “Dahana Connect 2026” event held at the PT Dahana Auditorium in Subang on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
These two strategic moves are part of Dahana’s efforts to strengthen the national explosives industry at the upstream level, enhance technological self-reliance, and deliver blasting solutions that are safer, more precise, and more efficient.
PT Dahana (Persero) President Director Hary Irmawan stated that bolstering production facilities represents a concrete step toward enhancing the company’s competitiveness while simultaneously reducing reliance on imported products.
“The reactivation of the Booster Plant and the launch of the Electronic Detonator Assembly Plant demonstrate Dahana’s tangible investment in infrastructure and technology. These initiatives aim to secure supply, boost self-reliance, and provide blasting solutions that increasingly align with the needs of modern industry,” said Hary.
Dahana’s Booster Plant has resumed operations under the Dahana-DAK Joint Operation (JODD) scheme in partnership with DAK Energetics, following a suspension of activities in May 2021. Fully operational since October 2025 with an installed capacity of 3 million units per year, the facility produces DAYAPRIME® Pentolite Booster—a high-energy cast booster available in 200-gram and 400-gram variants designed to deliver powerful and consistent initiation.
Concurrently, Dahana launched DAYATRONIC—an electronic detonator—produced at the Electronic Detonator Assembly Plant located at the Dahana Energetic Material Center (EMC) in Subang. This product utilizes electronic initiation technology with programmable delay times, enabling more precise and controlled blasting operations in underground, quarry, and open-pit applications. The establishment of this facility also serves as a strategic move by Dahana to reduce dependence on imported electronic detonators. The Deputy President Commissioner of PT Dahana (Persero), Air Marshal Andyawan Martono Putra, stated that the presence of these two facilities plays a crucial role in strengthening Dahana’s technological independence.
“The launch of the Electronic Detonator Plant marks a significant leap in explosive technology development, delivering greater accuracy, efficiency, and higher blasting safety standards. Meanwhile, the reactivation of the Booster Plant strengthens Dahana’s supply chain and production capacity,” said Andyawan.
Andyawan also emphasized the importance of implementing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols, a safety culture, and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in the operation of these facilities, with safety excellence as the top priority.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Len Industri (Persero), Joga Dharma Setiawan, viewed Dahana’s achievement as an implementation of the DEFEND ID Holding strategy to strengthen the national defense and energetic materials industry.
“The reactivation of the DAYAPRIME Booster Plant and the introduction of the Electronic Detonator Assembly Plant—featuring HEBS-II technology—represent more than just an increase in production capacity. They serve as proof that the holding company’s strategy to strengthen the upstream defense and energetic materials industry is proceeding according to the jointly designed roadmap,” stated Joga.
The Dahana Connect 2026 event series also featured a talk show titled “Smart Technology: Safer and More Efficient Mining,” featuring the Director of Operations of PT Dahana (Persero), Abdul Haris Atbaro, and Wonsuk Kwak, Head of Infra Solution Business at Hanwha Corporation.
Dahana Connect 2026 serves as a collaborative platform for Dahana to engage with customers, strategic partners, and stakeholders. The series of activities continued with a plant tour of the Booster and Electronic Detonator facilities, as well as a connection session with partners and customers.
Through the launch of the Electronic Detonator and the reactivation of the Booster Plant, Dahana continues to drive technological mastery and the independence of the national explosives industry, aiming to deliver blasting solutions that are increasingly safe, precise, and efficient.
