As a gesture for sympathy for casualties of landslides in the Bojong Kondang neighbourhood, Cihanjuang Village, Cimanggung District, Sumedang Regency, West Java, PT DAHANA (Persero) through its Community Partnership and Development Program (PKBL) unit delivered supplies of basic needs and medicines. The  Chief PKBL Eman Suherman handed over the assistance directly to the casualties on Tuesday, 19 January 2021.

 

“The aid that DAHANA is currently sending is logistical supplies for the emergency response. It is our hope that the aid will ease the burden on the people affected by this landslide disaster,” said Eman.

 

Meanwhile, according to the chairman of Neighbourhood 5 of Bojong Kondang, Abah Dedi, the landslide that hit on Saturday, January 9, 2021 caused damages to most of the houses in the Pondok Daud housing complex. In addition to the death toll of 40 people, the landslide disaster forced 64 other people out of 19 families to flee to refugee camps for fear of a further landslide disaster.

 

“There were two landslides on Saturday on the day of the incident. The first hit at around 16.00 WIB, and the second occurred at 20.00 WIB. The second landslide claimed many lives, ”said Abah Dedi. (rmt)
