The explosives monitoring team of the Directorate General of Defense Potential (Ditjen Pothan) of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense visited the PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) DAHANA site, in Tenggarong, East Kalimantan. The visit was aimed to supervise the distribution and use of explosives by the Business Entity on August 13-14, 2022.

General Manager of DAHANA’s General Mining 1 Division, Herry Sudaryanto said, DAHANA as a mecca for explosives in Indonesia has an obligation to meet the standards and conditions set by the Ministry of Defence, the Indonesian National Police and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

As is known, the Directorate General of Defense Potential has the authority to supervise and develop Explosive Materials Business Entities in terms of the legal basis, regulations for the management of commercial explosives, the level of authority, the stages of the process for permitting factory establishments, production permits, and quotas for importing explosives.

“The presence of the monitoring team of the RI Ministry of Defense’s Directorate General of defense Potential is here to ensure that all DAHANA operations in the field are in accordance with regulations,” said Mr Sudaryanto.

During their visit, the Directorate General of Defense Potential team visited DAHANA’s explosive accessories factory and inbound warehouse located in Sungai Siring, Samarinda, On Site Plant (OSP), and saw the blasting process directly carried out by DAHANA at the Sentuk Pit of PT Antareja Mahada Makmur.

DAHANA operates as a blasting service provider which serves mining work by PT MHU contractors, such as PT Antareja Mahada Makmur, PT Madhani Talatah Nusantara, PT Cipta Kridatama, and PT Putra Sarana Transborneo, where DAHANA produces 2,500 tons of explosives every month.

The team from the Directorate General of Defense Potential consisted of First Admiral Sri Yanto, S.T., the Secretary of the Directorate General of defense Potential, Ministry of Defense; First Marshal of the Indonesian Armed Forces Ir. Wajariman, M.Sc.;  Director of Tekindhan, Directorate General of Defense Potential, Head of Sub-directorate of Defense Technology and Industry, Supervisor IV/a  of Directorate General of Defense Potential, Supervisor IV/a Sri Sulastiyani, S.H., M.H., Head of Production Licensing Sub-Directorate of Licensing Directorate General of Defense Potential, and Penda III/a Duden Denis Arpan, Data Management of Licensing Information Sub-Directorate of Licensing of defense Technology and Industry, Directorate General of Defense Potential.
