The peak of the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Month observation was made joyful with various events, among others, Safety Culture Exhibition, Health Sharing Session, Fun Games, OSH Photo & Video Contest, Dahana Zero Accident Award and APD photobooth.

Since 1984 the central and regional governments have committed to playing a role as regulators conducting intensive guidance on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) on an ongoing basis through the implementation of OSH Month. The implementation involved all related agencies and the community. Implementation of the OSH Month is based on Article 86 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of Law Act Number 13 Year of 2003 on Manpower. National OSH Month nationally is held in January 12 – February 12.

PT DAHANA (Persero), a state-owned company engaged in commercial and military explosives routinely enlivens OSH Month month with various activities. This year, the peak of the K3 Month which carried the theme “Optimizing the Independence of the Cultivated Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in Information Technology-Based Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era” was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Bale Dahana Subang. The event was attended by internal company members and some invitees from the Subang District’s Manpower and Transmigration Service, Health Service and the Subang District Fire Department.

During the opening of the 2020 National OSH Month Summit, PT DAHANA (Persero)’s Director of Finance & HR Asmorohadi officially opened the series of events by beating a gong. In his remarks, Asmorohadi explained the positive trend of Safety Dahana 2019 achievement.

“In reference to PT DAHANA’s HSE Performance data in 2019, until December, out statistics showed that the amount of work reached an number of two million hours (2,015,840 hours) with 4 Lost Day and 2 LTI. If compared to the 2018 HSE Performance data, then 2019 experienced a significant decline, “he said, applauded by the participants.

Asmorohadi also explained that this achievement was not just a coincidence. There was a tireless effort and hard work from the team in charge. “We, from the Management of PT DAHANA (Persero) are very appreciative and hope that these achievements will be improved,” he said.

A positive welcome also came from representatives of the local government as conveyed by representatives of the Subang District’s Manpower and Transmigration Office, Nuryadin.

“This is a very positive activity and it helps the government to ensure that the working climate remains conducive by relying on the application of OSH,” he said during his speech.

According to the Chairperson of the OSH Month Commemoration activity in 2020 which also served as the Senior Manager of K3LH & Technology Erwin Cipta Mulyana, this activity aimed to increase awareness and compliance with OHS norms, improved the application of OHS to new work patterns and forms arising from the digitalized economic era.

“This event is also expected to increase the participation of all parties in realizing the implementation of OSH culture in every inclusive and sustainable economic development activity,” he added.

The commemoration of the National OSH Month was made joyful with various events, such as Fun Games, Health Sharing & Discussion, Safety Culture Exhibition and The APD Photobooth. Participants did not only come from Subang Headquarters, but also representatives from the Jakarta Office and Site Project.

Participants also got the opportunity for enlightenment from the company’s doctors about the 5 most common diseases found in Dahana’s Medical Checkup employees The event was followed by a presentation from a psychologist about the mental health of workers towards a healthy work environment. Apart from that, there was health counseling for workers and corona virus from Subang Health Office, followed by OSH Month warning dissemination from the Manpower and Transmigration Office. (jjs)
